Hi, I just wanted to tell you guys that I'm a Nebraska Huskers fan. From Sweden. This video made me like them even more, it shows that they're all human, and not just a team.
Facts. Husker fans are known for their hospitality. True facts. Giving words of encouragement and congratulations to the other team for a game well played, win or lose, even, or in some cases, especially the student section.
I was at this game and it actually took place on 9/20/2001, postponed 5 days from when it was originally scheduled due to the events going on. The game itself was great, but during the tunnel walk, anthem and the halftime show, you'd have been hard pressed to find a dry eye. So glad this is posted, but I wish that it continued with what happened after, it was an experience I'll never forget.
This is what Nebraska football and the fans are all about, love for the team, the state but most of all the country! God bless the USA, and GO BIG RED!
That was an awesome tunnel walk. I remember that game so well. My brother in law had just got stationed in Oceanside,Ca with my sister and he was to go to Kuwait 3 months later. God Bless The U.S.A. & Go Huskers!!!!!!!!!!
@mrlaymansterms1 The tunnel walk for that game was what you see above in the video. The players were all on the field on one knee from what I remember. It was an amazing AMAZING sight. This is one game that I would love to rewatch in entirety. It was either before or after the Anthem, but the singing of God Bless America, by the group singing it and by everyone who could croak it out in the stands at the top of their lungs, was incredible. Still gives me chills thinking about it.
It was an amazing Thursday night. Everyone came together, everyone cried, everyone was proud and deeply saddened at the same time. I don't even remember if we won or lost and didn't care.
I've always loved the Tunnel walks... I think the animation part should be brought back ;) Now that I'm a lil older I do some of this CG stuff... (not real good yet, but could prolly do something similar to the Husker tunnel walk animations) message me or something if you think I should possibly work on a tunnel walk for next year ;)... I'm actually going to UNO next year... but I still love the Huskers :P
@BecsyBabes I was at the Thursday night Rice game that year. The first ever Thursday game for the Huskers, but there was no Tnunnel Walk that night that I remember. Refresh me
I remember NTV showing the live coverage of them moving the Archway across the interstate and thought it was a massive waste of time and money then. Nearly two decades later my point has been proven twice over. A cool looking building and idea, but financially feasible? Not a chance in hell. Bigger question is what's going to happen to it if/when the day comes the Archway closes for good? I suppose it might make for a cool hotel if remodeled.
Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat used an abbreviated version of "Sirius" as his entrance music during the 1980s in his tenures with WWE and in Jim Crockett Promotions/World Championship Wrestling (NWA).

@@aidanswanson914 American football is pretty big in Sweden and it’s growing rapidly. And it’s huge in Germany as well

The Husker marching band actually plays the opponent’s fight song as part of their pre-game show.

I still have the newspaper with the picture of the stadium, holding up the American flag using colored pieces of paper in the stands.

The game was held on 9/20, the first Thursday game we ever played. Rescheduled from the Saturday after 9/11.
