- After a fire burned through their parlor facility in 2020, Double P Dairy in Marathon, Wisconsin, came back stronger than ever. Installing a GEA DairyRotor T8800 rotary parlor, the farm now sees improved milk-outs and labor efficiencies.
AJ Leonard, general manager of Double P Dairy, and Stephen Brilowski, sales representative with Kozlovsky Dairy Equipment, share how the farm decided on a GEA rotary parlor, the installation process and advice for other farmers considering a carousel milking system.
Miguel Garcia is the parlor manager at Double P Dairy and shares his experiences managing the 60-stall rotary parlor milking 2,000 cows on a variable 2-4x milking schedule.
“The biggest benefit I see with the DairyRotor is that we can milk 60 cows in 8 minutes. We’re also seeing complete milkouts in 3 minutes, 15 seconds with 60% of milk harvested in the first 2 minutes,” says Miguel.
