    The missing part maybe is the meaning of the cacao varieties. Three words and varieties discovered and born in Venezuela. We, Venezuelan, use the same categorisation for people that born in the country "criollos", people who is a foreigner but is living and feels Venezuelan are "forasteros" and the trinitarios...a former and lost island of Venezuela.

      Hi Etienne, Thanks for watching and commenting on our videos here on our channel. Where are you located? Philippines?
      Typically people buy the raw beans in large volumes. And they would do the roasting themselves. In the past few years, there's also large volume quantities of cacao nibs being produced and bought in large volumes. Cacao Nibs would be your roasted beans that has been already separated from the shells through the winnowing process.
      Depending on what you need and where you are situated, we can offer or suggest sources of beans or cacao nibs depending on your requirement.

      Hi Nemehiah, there are a lot of varieties that we did not mention dahil marami lang po talaga. That doesn’t mean they are bad or not good enough.
      Again we always ask people what they’re objectives are and the environment that they are in kasi may mga outside factors that impact your choices sa pag pili ng variety for your farm.
      Hope that that answers some of your questions 😊 good luck on your cacao journey

    Why they're called clones?

    • @cacaocultureph
      @cacaocultureph  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Josep for watching our videos and supporting the channel.
      Propagating plants from cuttings is an ancient form of cloning. There are several advantages of cuttings, mainly that the produced offspring are practically clones of their parent plants. If a plant has favorable traits, it can continue to pass down its advantageous genetic information to its offspring
      I hope that this answer helped you in your question!

    Hi. Thanks for the video. Is the W10 clone really a variety of Trinitario? I can't find it under the list approved by the National Seed Council. I actually found another youtube video showing W10, but not much info. What do you think?

    • @cacaocultureph
      @cacaocultureph  3 года назад +2

      Hi Rose, thank you for watching our video and commenting on our channel. We truly appreciate it. I am fairly certain that the W10 clone still falls under the trinitario variety. When we were starting in 2016, the propagation and planting of W10 was just fairly starting. As per the National Seed Council, I am not familiar with their process or how quickly they would have it on record.
      I hope I was able to answer your question Rose. Good luck on your cacao journey.😍

      Actually trinitario is the mix of the two varieties so we’ve seen light violet pag bean cut mixed with slightly white beans sa isang pod. Most of the time white beans (criollo) what people look out for but for us each variety is unique and has its own story to tell

    • @cacaocultureph
      @cacaocultureph  4 года назад +3

      Thanks for commenting on our video. That’s a very good question. Actually it depends on the maturity of the farm, the skill and know how of the person also. Sa mga training sessions that I have attended they say 1 person kaya 3 hectares but again Depends siguro sa skill and also farm management.
      Our farm we are around 2 people to 3 hectare (1:1.5 ratio). I have seen a very optimal farm na 3 people - 6 hectares (1:2 ratio).
      Then pag harvest mag add lang ng tao based on seasonality.
      Again please be mindful sa skill ng tao, the resources that they are given to perform the task contribute towards how well and efficiently they take care of your farm
