Elvis was a precious gift from God. He believed his money meant nothing if he could not share it with his friends. He was a very spiritual man, a devout Christian. There will never be another Elvis Presley. He gave away most of his wealth while he was alive.

Yep! They estimated at the time of his death he GAVE AWAY 87% of his ENTIRE LIFE EARNINGS!!!! 🤯

He would have had to get healthy and in shape to continue touring. Also maybe the drama movies he wanted to do. His movies made mi $ than his music. He could do anything!!! He was lonely even on a crowd…didn’t trust many people. Also his mama was his lifeline and security.
Had he not continued performing, he would have lost Graceland. The expense was tremendous. I think when he died he had 5 million dollars.

His best music was gospel… won two Grammys for gospel albums. When he does sing gospel with his small group around the piano, it came from his heart and soul. As he sang, one could see the glory of God in his face.
He didn’t intend to be a solo artist to start with. He wanted to be part of a gospel group and study the ministry.
He tried out with different groups but was told he couldn’t sing good enough and others didn’t have openings.
The way he started at Sun wasn’t intended to send him to stardom. This shy boy who only knew three chords on the guitar, went in there to pay to record a song for his Mama. The lady assistant recorded it since Sam was gone. She kept telling him this boy had something special. Sam called him to come in and talk. There he met Cash, JLLewis, Perkins, and couple more. It all went from there with Sam helping him get little gigs.

Elvis was not even a lukewarm Christian. He would read Madame Blavatsky on stage to the audience.

I’ve never considered myself an Elvis “fan”, but I went down the rabbit hole starting 2 years ago. It’s fascinating! What’s cool about EP is that his daily activities are perhaps the most recorded/tracked/ discussed of any single person of the 20th Century. I recommend Spa Guy for all the detective work he does to revisit locations and interviews with people like Mr. Strauss. All have nothing but love for EP.
