I would guess the fish never go that deep. On Lake Michigan, yellow perch will go as deep as 70’, but I’ve never heard of other cool water species going much deeper than that. What is your experience?
@@thegreatlakesfisherman they’ll show up as deep as fifty and sixty….but I’ve never seen them deeper than that. Some claim they have….but I’m not convinced. We do have to fizz them at that depth commonly….or you’ll likely kill a fish. And absolutely the same….the perch will be down there though! Those buggers school by the the thousands down there! Probably because they know the bass won’t! I’m relatively new to smallmouth….more a largemouth guy, but I needed a new lake. And sammamish has loads of smallmouth. Bass fishing is catching on slowly in Wash state, and some spots are now too pressured. That’s the bad part of the sport growing. Anyways. Sure like your content. Very informative, so the basic rule of thumb is that in summer you don't have to fish as deep as in the winter?
Every species and lake is different , but yes, many fish go deeper in the winter, especially on inland lakes.
