仙台藩祖伊達政宗公の時代から続く、世界一を誇る紙と竹の豪華絢爛な祭典、仙台七夕まつり。毎年8月6日～8日のまつり期間中は、仙台市内中心部および周辺の地域商店街をはじめ、街中が色鮮やかな七夕飾りで埋め尽くされ、毎年200万人を超える多くの観光客にお越しいただいております。
