I moved from City Life to a Village Life and I am proud to have my House Roofing done with Mangalore Tiles.. And yes, It is not just a Tile.. It is an Emotion...
These tile companies have jacked up prices exorbitantly with first class tiles costing around 50 rupees per piece. Second n third class are just not worth the price these days. This puts a huge burden on the consumer as majority of buyers are people with old homes whose roofs are designed to be covered with tiles and they can't afford to build homes with concrete slabs or refurbish their roofs with PVC or metal sheets as these are inconvenient for homes plus they greatly reduce the aesthetic. It's a shame that these companies had/have no foresight to earmark funds to do research and development in sustainable alternative raw materials to clay. Instead ,they were too busy lining their own pockets after inheriting the technology from their western inventors. My comment may sound scathing but they deserve to struggle because their economically poor consumers have to bear the brunt of their (tile manufacturers) myopic decisions.
First class tiles available in our area for Rs.20.00 still now and 2nd, 3rd class used for farms, sheds etc. Nowadays tiles are used for newly constructed houses, halls, hotel and resorts. Clay is the only raw material and no substitute for tiles production.
Those tiles helps you to bring your house temperature down. We all know how cool is the water stored in a mud pot. Know think how those mud tiles affect the whole 🏠

@@StoriesThatMatter_ Y sad its good and reliable and no soil loss for environment.
@@sachin2842 I agree.
For production of iron requires iron ore. That is also mining from earth, so it also effects the environment.
