    Omg I love you! I have my B.S. in biology, I was going to go to pharmacy school, but it just doesn’t seem like it’s a good career path for me. It’s over saturated and I want to help people more DIRECTLY, so I’m looking for an entry level direct entry MSN program. Thanks for this video!!

      You are so so so welcome!! One of my close friends in my program made this same switch! I wish you the best and hope you find the program for you! As stressful as it is at times (and from what I've seen, it can be ROUGH sometimes I'll be honest), nothing compares to the experiences you have with those life changing patients! Good luck! I hope to hear back from you!

      Hey just a tip from what I heard from alot of professionals ... is to make sure that your entry level MSN program will end in a NP certificate. If it does not then it is a waste of time.
      If you want to be a nurse practitioner they recommend people who already have a bachelors of non nursing do a accelerated BSN then move into a MSN-NP program. most accelerated BSN are around 12 to 16 months then the MSN-NP portion depends on if you do it part or full time.
      If you go in to a entry level MSN where at the end all you have is a Master in Nursing but no nurse practitioner certificate then you essentially are just paying for a few extra classes to get the same thing as a BSN. Then in the future you will have to go back into another masters program to become a nurse practitioner.

      @@notme3240 that’s not really true though b/c you don’t have to do an additional masters program to get your NP - just an add on certification program - of which the total length is often not much different (as a direct entry MSN program is shorter to begin with)

    I’m confused between pursuing medicine or direct entry nursing. I am self-employed which I want to keep on the side for long run it’s good money. I just have to work a lil more hard to pay for the tuition.
    I am becoming more organized and disciplined, I think I can do this and it’s totally worth it. I was thinking of fast track nursing just to have a secure second career and I’m glad I didn’t do that coz MSN is much better than fast track post secondary level program 🤞🏼.

    Hi there, because you're direct entry MSN, how do you overcome criticism/judgement for not having years of nursing experience before getting your NP degree? I went straight thru the traditional route asn -> bsn -> msn fnp. I'm getting a lot of push back for not having much RN experience prior to becoming an NP. I've been rejected time and time again from PRN/part-time jobs because I have little rn experience (other than the ED for a short time). I'm afraid that I wont be able to find preceptors or a job as an NP without significant RN experience. What are your thoughts on getting your MSN NP degree without any Rn experience? I'm doubting my ability to finish this program.

    • @TheDanielleDenise
      @TheDanielleDenise  3 года назад +5

      Hello Anne!
      I have very many thoughts about this. I just try to focus on the opinions of people who matter, those that encourage me and see how hard I work, how much time I dedicate, and so much more. If my professors, mentors, bosses, and coworkers all encourage me and see it in me to see it through, I can’t let the opinions of people that don’t know me or see what goes off of my channel to judge me. But on the same hand I think those feelings are valid because the experience is definitely needed.

    I am just finishing up my non-nursing bachelors degree and am deciding on whether or not a DEMSN would be worth it if my end goal is to become a CRNA. The program I was looking into does not offer a CRNA post-masters certification, so now I am questioning what the best route for me would be.

    • @TheDanielleDenise
      @TheDanielleDenise  4 года назад +3

      No worries, I've come across this comment before. The route to CRNA from a non nursing background is different. Your best option would be an ABSN, it takes a shorter amount of time and gets you in the field sooner so you can land an ICU job, which you'll need to apply to CRNA school. There aren't any DEMSN programs with a CRNA track yet, so you'd have to go for an ABSN and apply to a traditional CRNA program. If you feel that you need a Masters degree I would recommend one of the 2-3 years DEMSN programs that lead to only an RN, because being an RN is all you really need. I hope this helps ✨

      Yes I did. Don’t worry, some profs just write the same thing for most students 😅 and you can double check to see if they want any letters of Recs from professional organizations you’ve been apart of or jobs that you’ve had. Some schools want to get a whole picture of you.
