    That jam with the sawdust would drive me nuts. No way.

    I'm surprised the blade hasn't broke from the saw dust getting between blade and wheel. Yes that dust shoot needs a better exit in it. Looks like it cuts right along. Thanks for sharing

    I'm a little jealous about this one cause it has the new self locking raising and lowering handle.It's looks to be a cross over with lm2000 and the hd36 manual.Seems to like a lot of fixtures are copied from 2000 to 36 and some are not there such as the stoppers that the 2000 has.So I guess a New mill on the board ;-) .

    New Feature: Sawdust collection system. ;-) I'm cringing waiting for the far side of the sawmill to fall off the stringers...note the foot at the end hanging on for dear life by the end of the video.

    Wow, this thing needs a plasma cutter included so the new owner can cut a sawdust chute in it.

      The sawdust exit was placed in the bottom of the housing so sawdust coming off the blade hits a blind, vertical wall and has to fall down through the exit holes. I have not seen this on any other mills. I understand Norwood has added new holes and enlarged existing ones as a design fix.

    i have a timbery m280. i was looking qt the os27 because of the price and what get for it. logosal has a great idea with their bandsaw sawmill. the wheels look like fan blades. to throw the saw dust. looks like it would work very good. i have same issues with my timbery m280 but it don't look as bad

    Norwood did address this as my OS27 has side holes in to allow good flow.

      Hi Paul. Since you're an owner, can you tell me if the cut thickness is accurate/consistent? Any complaints? Thanks.

    • @pboulware1737

      I have been satisfied with the accurate cutting of the mill and pretty much everything over all. The bolts that hold the track together must be hand tightened I used a impact drill driver to speed up the process and ended up stripping some of the nuts out, not a BIG deal just put in some others I had. I did have an issue with some of the blades coming off but after getting more cut time I think I have that figured out. Getting the tracking set right and the right blade tension are the key. Also knowing when the blades get dull and not to push to hard through the wood. It like anything else you have to get use to the machine and learn how to operate it. I got the mill as a hobby but one month after having it I made $700 on one job cutting some 3/4'' pine boards for a friend. It is for sure not a production mill for everyday use but for a hobbyist, I like it. Hope this helps!!

      Thank you! I was wondering how to precisely set the blade tension. For example, the Woodland Mills sawmills have a nut on their tensioner crank that should be torqued to specification, but I didn't see that on the OS27. Just have to feel it out?

    • @pboulware1737
      @pboulware1737 5 лет назад +2

      It is weird the OS27 manual says to bottom out the t-handle until it hits the spacer behind the tension spring for proper adjustment but watching the videos form norwood they say about 4 to 5 turns after taking the slack out. I called Norwood and talked to Trevor and he agreed you just kinda have to find that sweet spot. They have been helpful when ever I called them, good luck in what ever direction you go.

    Everyone can complain all they like...nice little unit! I'd take a unit to use for building the Earthship Biotecture style home my wife and I are going to build...I have to transport logs from Tahoe area though.

    A bit of a fail construction how the sawdust gets caught in the blade housing, but nice saw

      I just use a leaf blower to clear it without opening. Quick and simple, blow backwards into the chute.
