    Ok I wanna give u a few tips for the torch, first off when you fill it you should always put the torch and the can of butane upside down, second the hottest part of the flame should be the tip not in the middle of it, you will notice some orange color flame around the object you are melting when at the hottest point, plus you can get better results if you get like 5x refined butane :)

    • @scoopscience
      @scoopscience  8 лет назад

      Thanks for these tips, also I have recently gotten some refined butane gas, so I might use that a lot more!!

      @@scoopscience Hottest part of a butane flame is not the tip of the flame. It's the tip of the inner brighter blue jet. #GTS

      Yes U shuld put torch upside down, becose butane is hevier than atmosferik air. When torch is under conteiner with butane, air frome the tank can run away and butane can fill torch tank to full. Have happy life in 2020 everyone.

      When you fill it upside down it ober fills it I just fill it for each job rather than fill it all the way otherwise it spurts liquid butane

    The issue with my torch (looks the same) was the nozzle clogging. Happened nearly instantly. I dissassembled it and the orofic is a stainless disk with a micro hole in it. Really ridiculous as they dd int bother adding a sponge filter like you see in the cheapest of lighters. I rolled up a tiny amount of cotton and stuffed that down the pipe before placing the disk on and inserting it back into place. That seems to have made it more resillient to any particles inside the tank. To clean the orifice I lightly jabbed at the stainless disk with the end of a braid of solder wick. Eventually one fiber pokes through and your good. Copper wont destroy the stainless orifice,

  • @josephparsons3405
    @josephparsons3405 2 года назад

    Yeah, butane combined with just the oxygen from air together in that Venturi nozzle can only get so hot. Standard lead solder is no match for a butane jet, but aluminum and zinc are going to require a little more heat/higher temperature. Or just more time and persistence.

    DONT YOU KNOW THE HOTTEST PART OF THE FLAME - YOU ARE TOO CLOSE

    • @scoopscience
      @scoopscience  8 лет назад +1

      Yeah, there are two parts of a flame that are the hottest, and that is in the middle and on the tip of the flame. (also, why the CAPS)

    • @Thecarverman
      @Thecarverman 3 года назад

      Its not the flame thats the hottest part its the air just above the flame thats is at its hottest point usually with this particular torch 1300 degrees celsius is what i have tested with mine

    • @jamesmcleod4560
      @jamesmcleod4560 3 года назад

      WRONG the hottest part is the tip of the blue flame - not the air above

    Today I got mine out of the box, filled it up, it worked fine. Then in the evening I went to fill it up again and I can't make it light up. Gas doesn't come out from the front at all and I 've checked from the bottom, it has gas in it. Any ideas?

      You probably don’t have it anymore but in the chance you do then it is the disk in the jet that is probably clogged if that helps good if it doesn’t then idk good luck

    do you know what would make the objects that you aren't working very hot and hard enough to get better results. you would need a can of spray that you use to spray your kitchen pans before you cook which would be the spray butter or another type of spray oil when you spray oil on the object the oils start to conduct more heat then usual you will notice this when the oil on the object starts to boil and when it starts to boil you will notice discoloration on the object the discoloration means that the Allies in the middle or the object is beginning to expand on the inside and start to melt faster give it a try you will notice it it is a nice tip to give you and hope to see you use this on a video.

      @scoopscience  7 лет назад +1

      Thanks man, I also don't remember using the bottom of the flame though, I think I was using the middle, because I was taught that the middle and the tip of the flame was the hottest.

    • @onealrc2711
      @onealrc2711 7 лет назад

      Scoop Science yeah that's true as well because if you use the very tip or the flip things will mostly just melt but it's not really a big deal I was just wanting you to know so you can melt that aluminum faster

    You filled it wrong , point the touch facing the floor the put the butane on top of your pen touch , You had the pen torch facing up when you tried to fill it have both faceing down down or you wont get much gas , watch more you tube videos on how to fill it properly, a butane soldering iron , the tip can come off and the it's a torch or put the soldering tip back on it a soldering iron again , do some more you tube videos on filling and on butane soldering Iron,you dont have to spend a lot ,but sometime it's better to spend a little more to get a better useful tool I have have one of those little blue torches I use it for heat shrink , do your research and watch you tube videos.
