I love this instrument...want to learn very badly...its soothing to mind and soul...can anyone suggest where and exactly what model to buy...only genuine answers please
U can't learn this by yourself. Get a proper guru, a mridangam player who performs regularly on concerts with lots of experience, learn from him, then buy a mridangam. This isn't like buying something and hitting on it. Learn from a proper professional. There are multiple schools of mridangam, pick one and learn. It will take 5 years to do your first concert. It takes several years to be good at this instrument. It's a divine instrument.

I love this instrument...want to learn very badly...its soothing to mind and soul...can anyone suggest where and exactly what model to buy...only genuine answers please
U can't learn this by yourself. Get a proper guru, a mridangam player who performs regularly on concerts with lots of experience, learn from him, then buy a mridangam. This isn't like buying something and hitting on it. Learn from a proper professional. There are multiple schools of mridangam, pick one and learn. It will take 5 years to do your first concert. It takes several years to be good at this instrument. It's a divine instrument.
