This piece was a standard encore piece of Vladimir Horowitz, the great pianist of the last century. Who does not love this piece from Schumann's Kinderszenen? It is so full of warmth. I will book the lesson...
I listened to the second half of Zdanov too slow. but that's O.K. as he is showing the srructure of the piece. I listened to 4 other pianists:
Moiseoivitch - he puts too much into the piece instead of letting it sing for itself, certainly including all the subtleties of the structure
Kempf - the best of these, he puts some movement into the piece; there could be a bit more of this..
Schnabel and Horovitz - Far to slow.
If the slow interpretations are beautiful done I accept them but they don't give the character Schumann desired. They interruot the flow of the cycle. Clara Schmann hated this.
Beautiful lesson.
this piece sounds very christmasy. It´s so warm and sweet and sad.
Thank you for another great lesson. I guess we need to have a solid foundation in theory in order to be able to analyse the piece.
Thank you. One of my favorites ❤️
What fingering do you recommend if i can’t reach wide chord?
Arpeggiate it or re-distribute stuff between hands
Thanks!
Thank you☺️☺️☺️
The score scares me with multiple voices. This is not for a beginner or small hands, I guess?
Yeah it’s more for intermediate players. You might check out the pieces from the curriculum of this course, they are more suitable for late beginners:

@@DenZhdanovPianistDo you have pieces you recommend for early advanced pianists who can barely reach an octave?
