  • The Kensho of movies is awakening in the movie or after you have seen the movie to its greater meaning...when you and the movie are ONE. Take Oppenheimer for instance...the Kensho of the movie is when I realize through and through, that I see through and through that I am Oppenheimer. The movie is a question: should we create the bomb. If we don't the Nazis will. Will the bomb blow up the universe in a chain reaction? I don't know...Is atomic energy good or bad, creative or destructive?
The double bind of the movie is that no matter what Oppenheimer did it was uncertain. And when it comes to the death of the universe, which is unthinkable, you don't want to gamble...
The movie is a Zen Koan or an absolute contradiction out of which there is no escape...So....you must act on Faith alone....not faith in science, not faith in God...because the bomb blows up all that in its blast of LIGHT....or, and I'm pointing here...KENSHO.
What is your question? What is your personal Zen Koan...what is your dilemma?
A dilemma is when nothing you do, either this or that is any good. No matter what you do, the answer is uncertain. ..Now...what are you going to do?
