Sometimes the rubber backing the slugs rest on gets sticky. One of the slugs looked slightly bent too, to my eye. It already does work a lot better than at the start though!

Lacquer Thinner is my primary cleaning/degreaser chemical, beware, LT is very strong, will melt some plastic, need ventilation.
