I actually did something just like this after I beat all the chapters and b/c sides I restarted a new file, and used variant mode to make adjustments. Turned myself into Badeline, turned the game speed into 125%, gave her ice physics, and mirrored the levels. It was fun but things started getting sketchy by the summit in one of the rooms because of the ice physics. Wasn't sure if it was possible because of the way they work. (Also I wanted to do B and C sides after the main story and core, but seeing how precise they get idk if it's possible for me using ice physics.)
Thanks for the idea, my bro just started this playthrough! Now we'll see how much of the game is actually possible like this (the madlad is going for 100% + winged golden) Low friction is already getting to him and he's only done chapter 1
Update: he's currently in 6a. So far there has been one (1) impossible berry (mirror temple, red bubbles + tight corridors + low friction = problems). Will update when he clears or gives up on Summit
Update, we have discovered The Problem: flag 10. It ruins everything. Low friction makes you turn too slowly to get to the spring. The easy solution here is to wait 118 hours to make the spike hitboxes intangible, but that's not really feasible when we have to shut down our computers every night to save electricity. (Same exploit could be used for the 5a berry) This is the end of the legitimate run. Besides that one berry and that one part in flag 10, everything else in the main story is possible glitchless! (Core is to be seen)
someone should make a mod that expands on the cut feature for playing as badeline, where it doesnt randomly turn her back to madeline in cutscenes, and she gets an even edgier version of herself chasing her down. badderline if you will. i think itd be cool if this new effigy took inspiration from madeline's inner demons from the mirror temple, all tentacle-y and monstrous in some regard, maybe instead of glowing read eyes, her face is taken up by a chomping mouth. could be real funny giving badeline dialogue freaking out over it, and it only responds in gurgles and screeches. then when it comes time to confront herself, it behaves like a scared animal, whimpering at the end before finding comfort with badeline, and uniting. no idea what the color would be, i like the idea of going even edgier with black hair, but that may not pop. maybe red hair to parallel madeline?
