Um it should be further noted that they have trouble getting the spare parts they need due to the numerous sanctions on them. So if they were to fly in combat with their 30+ years of age, they wouldn't exactly be optimal.

But they have no parts to fix them. They haven't been able to get parts since the embargo after the Shah was overthrown.

No F-14s there, and no operational F-35s either, ironic to me this is.
