Damn dude, sucks to see it go. I really enjoyed all of your videos and they helped me throughout my build. Can’t wait to see your next project, whenever you’re ready for one!
Wow, just 10 minutes ago I enjoyed your mockup video of the turbo kit, and now this. I may also rethink my plan to turbo my otherwise stock (but still fun) 1.6. It's getting harder to find unmolested examples of these early cars so perhaps I won't molest it. Happy trails brother.
Turbo is fun, don’t get me wrong, it’s an absolute blast. Mine was to the point where I was “scared” to drive it out of fear of something breaking. Don’t have to worry about that when it’s mostly stock
@@ConnorsCorner1 Agreed, I've nodded a few cars and when it didn't come from the factory that way you develop an ear (and nose) for funny noises and odors.
I’m sad now rip 😢 thinking twice about turbo. Might just have to enjoy it n/a which I acc don’t mind. GL with your future projects 🤝 thx a lot for all the Miata content I really enjoyed it while it lasted
It's changed hands a couple of times now... Guy I sold it to only had it for 2 months, and the next owner about the same. Have no idea where its at now.
Sorry this happened to you, friend. Just curious because my car is mostly stock, but why wouldn't you run with speedy efi again? I just ordered the full plug and play kit last week and I was pretty eager to install it until I saw this and heard you say that.
Nothing against the Speedy, didn’t mean for it to sound that way. I just enjoyed the car more when it was relatively stock on the stock ECU than I did when it was built engine and turbo. Stock, I beat the crap out of it and never worried. Once I doubled the power I was worrying about trans, diff, axles, engine health, heat management, brakes, etc.
@@ConnorsCorner1 In that case, I'll probably stop at the ecu tune and maybe some bolt ons. Like a lot of other guys said, after watching this video I'm starting to reconsider the turbo idea quite a bit. Again, sorry this happened, but you probably saved quite a few miatas by documenting your experience. Thank you
I'm still doing my 1.6 kraken build. About to tear apart the engine this weekend. I'll carry the torch for you bro.
