- Go behind the scenes with producer/engineer Fab Dupont as he works with Grammy-winning producer Jacknife Lee creating the Apollo Artist Session at London’s AIR Studios - the debut of Apollo X Audio Interfaces. Learn more about Apollo X at www.uaudio.com...
Dupont follows Lee and Two Door Cinema Club vocalist Alex Trimble as they reimagine the band’s 2012 hit “Sun,” bolstered by the London Metropolitan Orchestra. Over the course of four days, Lee and Trimble work from the original session files, selecting parts to keep, while also auditioning a variety of vintage synths for new textures.
Dupont then details how he tracks drums using three Apollo x8p interfaces and various realtime UAD plug-ins like the Neve 1073, UA 610 Preamp & EQ, 1176 Compressor, and more. Finally, Dupont interviews orchestral arranger Davide Rossi and engineer Olga Fitzroy about composing and recording the London Metropolitan Orchestra at AIR’s legendary Lyndhurst Hall via four Apollo x16 interfaces.

Thanks Jorge, we're really pleased with how it all turned out.
@@UniversalAudio I appreciate all the hard work and hours of not only doing the recording but actually recording for us and then editing the video. THANKS!

😍
Amazing 🔥
Inspiring 👍🏾
ha, SM7-B ! Spent so much money and ended up with a SM7-B. That best general mic for under $400 or less.
Impressive studio! Great sound.
🥂
8:42 It really brings me joy to see anything Coldplay related!
So where is the link to the new recording?
Fabulous! )
Yeah, really great deep dive stuff in this video!
@@UniversalAudio do you plan to enhance the console?
@@andivax Sorry, but as a rule we don't talk about future products or features. Thanks for understanding.
@@UniversalAudio sure thing! Consider this as feature request then )) thank you!
@@andivax Will do! Thanks for reaching out.
Fab is great!
DOPE!
Nice
i would have actually be more interested in if you used unison preamps for the orchestra as well. i know you can only have 32 unison preamps max at this point but still, i would have liked to hear how they hold up in a "classical" environment. clean and with emulations.
Understood. But we choose to show off the amazing conversion in the x16 in this case.
What was the sample rate this whole track recorded at?
48k
string arrangement is a bit busy for the track.
I've got a decent JBL pro Sub and Genelec's for monitors and I'm not hearing any bottom end on that drum in the piece at the end of the video. Sounds more like a toy it's so rolled off.
...so let me understand this...you went to Air Studios to record on a computer thru plugins....ignoring the fact theres a beautiful console and all the hardware in that room?? right...
Yes. Yes, we did.
Isaac, I think the point was the studio. They wanted THAT room, THAT orchestra, THAT personnel. The equipment (in this case) was just a coincidence.
I don't like Fat Dupont's sense of humor...
5:08 lol
