I know Alfie takes his refereeing seriously, but man.....to do that to Spencer at a *charity game* when he has SUCH CLOSE LINKS to Spencer and Hashtag is VERY weird behaviour. Makes you wonder what his thought process was. How did he decide that was the right thing to do?? If they had set it up for a laugh, then fair enough, but it doesn't seem like that was the case at all.
That’s why In friendlies, stop using low level referees and or have a discussion with referees etc about what you want for the charity match. Don’t just have the expectation about what should just happen for a match whether a friendly, charity or normal competitive match. Talk before the game about the expectations.
That's honestly hilarious. Feel bad for the young lad. High pressure situation which he hasn't been in before. Yes he's a qualified ref but I'm sure he will do better in the future.
Ref made a bad call the pushing claim does seem a joke of a call especially but he will learn from it He is still a young lad who will get more opportunities. The standard of refereeing in UK is poor anyway so good luck to him but he will be thick skinned anyway you have to be especially when you start out parents in kids games and sunday league games can be horrendous at times
My problem with this is that I am a level 6 qualified referee and decisions and moments like this sadly are what causes us refs to get abuse and all negative comments towards all referees and ends up stopping people wanting to be refs so the guy needs to realise that what was said is a part of the game and nothing was wrong with the comments in the laws of the game that Spen said
This situation gets me unnecessarily mad. I’ve seen Alfie’s story on it and Spencer’s too …. I think it should not have been a red. Poor decision. But alfies a kid. My view is that alfie is getting a bit big for his boots… Wrong decision. We move. He needs to learn from this.
1. No matter the game, be it a charity, league or cup game. You never put your hands on the referee. 2. You don’t call the referee any form of insult, be it “clown” or even something like “cunt” But I can see why it looks ridiculous to others.
To be fair to Alfie, if you’re gonna criticise his decision because of the fact it was just a charity game, then you have to also criticise Spencer’s behaviour for the same reason, no need to speak to the ref like that if ‘it’s only a charity game’
@@BeatMonkeyV5 Well he got a yellow for whatever he said, and he got another yellow for a sly comment afterwards, so he obviously wasn’t just asking how long was left...
This is where referee abuse stems from if you don’t stamp it out in the small games it gets worse in the big games. I do not blame Alfie for taking action against referee abuse. Spencer should know better than to call one of his super fans a clown, I do like Spencer but sometimes he takes referee abuse to far and it needs to stop.
Disgusting behaviour from Spencer if you ask me.....the ref did the right thing, I’m sick of seeing these “big-time footballers” harassing and verbally abusing referees #respecttheref 🤣

Tbf knowing spencer, if it was a premier league match and a black ref was called a clown or something like that which caused drama he would defend the receiver of hurtful words, that being the ref
If spencer called him a “clown” that is classed as dissent and is therefore a Sin bin. So if Alfie wants to say it’s a red by law .... he’s incorrect in law. I’m a ref of 11 years and well over 500 grassroots and semi pro games, but sorry Alfie has dropped a ball or 2 😂😂
