The color story overall just isn't speaking to me but the periwinkle matte is gorgeous! I think during this wave of super impressive sparkly shades in indie palettes, this one just isn't calling my name but I also understand that she started designing this two years ago. And while I will give maybe 75% effort at getting a new release, the high demand vs. low numbers produced of this palette just isn't worth it to me. I can see why a lot of people love it though.

I got mine in Saturday the purple matte is soooo pretty and that pink purple shimmer girl I gasped when I swatched it the shimmers are def better then the original Mengarie formula I am so glad the only thing that wasn't my fav was the 1st shade it's more of a topper but it seems like it's pressed to hard tho it didn't pick up that well on my finger now I haven't tried it on my eyes yet. I love this palette. I was def one of the ones fighting for it I was hiding in the bathroom at work hitting refresh nonstop 10 mins before launch until it went live hurried up checked out within like 30 seconds

That palette is stunning! I just got mine today 😆😆 Sadly Tranquil was a little broken, but since it's really soft I was able to smush it back together. Can I just say, you look STUNNING when you're done with the look and your hair is down!!!
I don’t know what’s happening with the supposed refund to international customers. The amount of shipping I paid was a two dollars less than the palette itself! Im really unhappy. 😢

I finally got my email saying it was being shipped out to me! This is my first purchase from Menagerie because any other time, I tried they sold out immediately. I set an alarm on the day of launch and went in immediately! I love Annette and she definitely has me excited for this.

I just used my palette for the first time this morning. The mattes are pretty, but definitely not as pigmented as say the dark mattes in the Kaleidos Club Nebula. The shimmers do feel nicer and smoother. Looking forward to your 3 looks video.
I love the color story but because of the kaleidos launch, I couldn't buy it. I hope they do some restocks. I have never tried Menagerie but I definitely would love to support Annette and dig the vibe on the palette.

I didn't want this palette until I watched Annette's reveal video but I knew I was not going to be able to get my hands on it especially with such a limited quantity but think goodness that it is not going to be as limited as Angie's, which by the grace of God I was finalllllly able to get on the last round of restocks. I'm also hoping that over the summer which I'm assuming is when they will be releasing more since they'll be getting there pressing machine that they will come out with some more Flight Club units and blush palettes also because I will gladly buy all three at one time 😆

Those shades, like Snowball in the Pastel Pup palette, that you were asking about were originally called Tri-foils. Interestingly, I’m pretty sure they’re not advertised as such anymore, though. I think now they call them Chameleon shadows, or something like that.
Your eyeshadow is beautiful, I always gravitate towards those shades even though they don't look good on me. And I'm always looking for true yellow shimmer shades, they're hard to find, they usually lean gold.

The customs issue with Spain, nonetheless I think not all european countries act the same, it's that it's not legal to buy cosmetics outside the EEC for a higher value of 24$, so the taxes and shipping we must pay are not worth it, eventhough it's possible They blink an eye ( Hope it's correct in English, I had to translate this expression with Google) until 50€, as soon as they're not that many items, I usually manage to buy from Colourpop or Kaleidos
When you swatched the green, purple & orange side by side I actually felt by breath inhale a bit. Those 3 colors together---such a beautiful & classic color triad. When you just had the blue blended & softly faded on your upper eyelid I immediately thought a soft white MATTE shade in the center blended out (not opaque) would look sooooo good. I can't believe how pretty that blue shade looked all by itself. Sometimes it's nice to just let a single color be the star of the show. Colorful looks don't always have to be bright & busy, they can be soft & understated too. Just as impactful. That blue looked so good on you Amy, I am a little jealous (I love the color blue & blue eyeshadow looks terrible on me) Annette's palette looks like it would pair well with Dragon Child :) That palette could use some brightening up, it's very muted

Oh man, this will mix well with the Neon Drip palette 💜💜 I didn't even think that the first few times I saw this. I'm so excited for this! I didn't bother trying to get it on first launch. I will get it on restock. I got so many new palettes in April (like 18 😹) so I figured someone that didn't get any palettes may be able to get it in my spot 💜🖤 I can't wait to get it!
I did my comparisons yesterday, and I think we came up with the same ones. Fwiw, I found that my swatches came off very well when I washed my arm with Dawn. Things I've learned through swatching my collection... Lol
I missed the initial launch it being my daughters bday and us getting pedicures 😅 I was relaxing while ppl were “fighting” for this 😆 I plan on getting it next time 😌
This look is stunning! It is funny, I was wavering on buying this palette because I know myself, and there are only 5 colors I would wear - the exact 5 you used in this look! I did try to buy it at the launch, but my check out took too long (had some glitches with snowball double adding) and I lost out. I still haven’t decided if I will try for the next round.

@@victoriaduggerstudio52 most definitely, but I've seen comments and posts from both regular people and people with bigger followings talking about receiving their palette so they did start shipping a lot sooner than May 15th( I checked yesterday and apparently the serenity palette was to be shipped then). I think they need to hire people to help out, as a 2 operation business of this scale it's just not working out :/

I wish menagerie would make up their mind why they aren't shipping internationally. They have said so many conflicting reasons and I've lost trust in them over this entire issue. I don't feel they are being honest, and I'm so gutted because I would have paid their crazy shipping costs for this. Annette did such an amazing job and they did her wrong imo. But I'm sure I can find similar shadows from other indie brands (who still ship internationally), to play as its so inspiring. 💚💜💛💙
@@rachelel9087 that's a new one! I've seen a multitude of reasons. They even DM'd me a blog article with very bad info on about Brexit. I gave up at that point. I get it's a couple making them, but why collab if you're going to be incapable of making a success of it from the start? It's all just very odd and hence my now distrust in them.
From what I’ve heard it sounds like they don’t understand 100% why the packages were sent back either, and they couldn’t really get much information from the international shipping service. It’s not really menagerie’s fault, they’re doing everything they can. They’re likely going to open up international shipping for the next round of orders once the packages will be able to get though the ports.
@@nataliemayo5410 from my communication with them I don't think they have the knowledge to deal with the shipping issues. And nor the desire to really find out about it all. If all international shipments from them have been returned its obviously something to do with paperwork I imagine? I would be happy to be wrong, and do not wish them anything negative. I hope this collab is a huge success for Annette. But they aren't a brand I will follow any more.
Thankfully I was able to get one! I was super happy and excited about it, but I hope everyone who wants one can get one. I wish they could make more, but I understand that there may be reasons why they are only making a limited number. 💜
Honestly I get really fustrated seeing Menagerie because it's literally impossible to purchase their products. 🤷♀️ It's become a lottery on restock days and if you are international, forget it.
Honestly, I think the owner of Menagerie must be really incompetent when it comes to international shipping. Because I've made at least a hundred orders from various US-based indie make-up brands over the last 10 years and they all arrived fine. Only one got lost and the brand resent it to me. I live in the Czech Republic (EU). When Menagerie started, they shipped worldwide and I bought the original Feral palette (before they switched two shades). The palette arrived fine, just as those two new shades they offered to those who bought the original version and that were shipped separately. Then they stopped shipping to some countries, but they still did to others and their choice of countries they shipped to made no sense. E.g. they shipped to Poland, but not to Germany (and Czech Republic). I was really sad about it, because I love the Feral palette and I wanted to buy their other palettes, but could buy from them no more because of their shipping policy. So I wrote to them on Insta and to their customer service e-mail, when they were launching the Whalesong palette, politely asking if they plan to ship to us again. They never even bothered to reply. Then covid hit and they stopped shipping internationally altogether, I think. Then they cherry picked a few other countries to ship to... and now they are cancelling those international orders because packages don't come through customs? I'm sorry, but that is such a BS! Packages don't go through customs only if you don't know how to send them abroad. They used to be able to do that alright. I think they should stop making such lame excuses and just admit they are unable to produce enough palettes to satisfy even their home US market and/or are lazy to deal with the extra work that international shipping comes with. The fact that they took those international orders and then cancelled them with such a lame (and very probably untrue) excuse sucks on soooo many levels. I'm curious whether they refunded everyone immediately, because they basically took a loan from their international customers under false pretenses. Annette doesn't deserve this drama.
I think you're being a bit harsh with them. Covid screwed up shipping for every company. Countries weren't accepting packages. Then some countries opened up while others didn't, hence the "random" country acceptance. They might have unintentionally missed your email. Also apparently the San Francisco(?) Port has an extremely huge backup, which might be the reason they're returning all packages to sender until they can get caught up. Someone in the comments on insta said they lived by the port that the palettes were meant to go through And they were shocked at how backed up it was. They said there were way more boats than normal and you couldn't see the end of the line.
I completely understand where you’re coming from. I’ll admit I do have the mindset that if nearly every other indie brand can figure it out why can’t they. It makes me very sad for the people who can’t get their hands on the products even through forwarding services (because they cancel orders to them) I believe this latest issue is real because I saw many people mentioning having issues with a bunch of brands because the Suez Canal is backed up but I haven’t done a ton of research into it.
@@rachelel9087 OK, I've read what they wrote on IG and through some IG comments and you might be right that I'd been a bit harsh with them this time. But they cherry picking countries they ship to and not responding to my e-mails was way long ago, before covid was even a thing. It was before the Whalesong palette release which was in april 2019. I still think them cancelling all the orders before investigating the problem, just based on a Google search, is really unprofessional. One of my favourite British clothing brands has recently had shipping problems because of brexit, their usual delivery partner returned all of their packages to my country and they didn't cancel the orders, they found out what was wrong and resent the packages. I bet most of the Menagerie customers wouldn't mind paying the shipping again, just to get their hands on this palette. I'm curious how this whole situation plays out. If they don't refund all the cancelled orders soon, I will stand by my original opinion that their behaviour is pretty shady.
Menagerie didn't even try to fix the international problem though. just said "oops oh well, refunding you all & you can just miss out" parphrasing obviously but still. As an international the idea of missing this palette is heartbreaking to me.
They did try to inquire with the international shipping service as to what they could do to or what the problem was, but got no response. The issue is likely just that all the shipping ports are so backed up right now that they just sent the orders back. So basically there’s not really anything they can do, besides try again to ship them in a couple months. They will likely open up international shipping to customers for the next round of orders. I understand that it’s frustrating, but there’s literally nothing else they can do.
I love Annette and I feel like I’m going to buy it, because Menagerie is my favorite brand and I have all of their other palettes. Also the fact that the packaging is pretty and you can customize the palette. I am pretty disappointed by the dupes though...there’s not really even that many shades within Menagerie’s stock to compare with. I feel like it wouldn’t have been that hard at all to make sure there’s at least a little bit of a difference with each shade so we’re not buying a bunch of the same shades...:/ Is this not generally something that’s discussed when making collab palettes?
I guess it would depend on the person and if that is a priority for them. I’m assuming Annette has a very specific color story she wanted for the palette so even though there’s a close shade here and there throughout other palettes her final vision was what mattered? I’m just guessing 😂🙈
I honestly think I will pass on this one - which is a shame, because Annette did a great job and I want this palette. I understand indie vs mainstream, but it shouldn't be so difficult to buy a product (low stock for initial launch, limited, no international shipping right now). I am kind of over it. I absolutely will not fight for a palette lol If they make it permanent and open up shipping, I will consider in future.

This look is stunning! It is funny, I was wavering on buying this palette because I know myself, and there are only 5 colors I would wear - the exact 5 you used in this look! I did try to buy it at the launch, but my check out took too long (had some glitches with snowball double adding) and I lost out. I still haven’t decided if I will try for the next round.

Surprisingly the purple didn't stain my eyes usually all of Mengarie mattes stain my eyes besides pastel ones

@@victoriaduggerstudio52 most definitely, but I've seen comments and posts from both regular people and people with bigger followings talking about receiving their palette so they did start shipping a lot sooner than May 15th( I checked yesterday and apparently the serenity palette was to be shipped then).
I think they need to hire people to help out, as a 2 operation business of this scale it's just not working out :/

I wish menagerie would make up their mind why they aren't shipping internationally. They have said so many conflicting reasons and I've lost trust in them over this entire issue. I don't feel they are being honest, and I'm so gutted because I would have paid their crazy shipping costs for this. Annette did such an amazing job and they did her wrong imo. But I'm sure I can find similar shadows from other indie brands (who still ship internationally), to play as its so inspiring. 💚💜💛💙

@@rachelel9087 that's a new one! I've seen a multitude of reasons. They even DM'd me a blog article with very bad info on about Brexit. I gave up at that point. I get it's a couple making them, but why collab if you're going to be incapable of making a success of it from the start? It's all just very odd and hence my now distrust in them.
From what I’ve heard it sounds like they don’t understand 100% why the packages were sent back either, and they couldn’t really get much information from the international shipping service. It’s not really menagerie’s fault, they’re doing everything they can. They’re likely going to open up international shipping for the next round of orders once the packages will be able
to get though the ports.
@@nataliemayo5410 from my communication with them I don't think they have the knowledge to deal with the shipping issues. And nor the desire to really find out about it all. If all international shipments from them have been returned its obviously something to do with paperwork I imagine? I would be happy to be wrong, and do not wish them anything negative. I hope this collab is a huge success for Annette. But they aren't a brand I will follow any more.
Thankfully I was able to get one! I was super happy and excited about it, but I hope everyone who wants one can get one. I wish they could make more, but I understand that there may be reasons why they are only making a limited number. 💜

Honestly, I think the owner of Menagerie must be really incompetent when it comes to international shipping. Because I've made at least a hundred orders from various US-based indie make-up brands over the last 10 years and they all arrived fine. Only one got lost and the brand resent it to me. I live in the Czech Republic (EU). When Menagerie started, they shipped worldwide and I bought the original Feral palette (before they switched two shades). The palette arrived fine, just as those two new shades they offered to those who bought the original version and that were shipped separately. Then they stopped shipping to some countries, but they still did to others and their choice of countries they shipped to made no sense. E.g. they shipped to Poland, but not to Germany (and Czech Republic). I was really sad about it, because I love the Feral palette and I wanted to buy their other palettes, but could buy from them no more because of their shipping policy. So I wrote to them on Insta and to their customer service e-mail, when they were launching the Whalesong palette, politely asking if they plan to ship to us again. They never even bothered to reply. Then covid hit and they stopped shipping internationally altogether, I think. Then they cherry picked a few other countries to ship to... and now they are cancelling those international orders because packages don't come through customs? I'm sorry, but that is such a BS! Packages don't go through customs only if you don't know how to send them abroad. They used to be able to do that alright. I think they should stop making such lame excuses and just admit they are unable to produce enough palettes to satisfy even their home US market and/or are lazy to deal with the extra work that international shipping comes with. The fact that they took those international orders and then cancelled them with such a lame (and very probably untrue) excuse sucks on soooo many levels. I'm curious whether they refunded everyone immediately, because they basically took a loan from their international customers under false pretenses. Annette doesn't deserve this drama.
I think you're being a bit harsh with them. Covid screwed up shipping for every company. Countries weren't accepting packages. Then some countries opened up while others didn't, hence the "random" country acceptance. They might have unintentionally missed your email. Also apparently the San Francisco(?) Port has an extremely huge backup, which might be the reason they're returning all packages to sender until they can get caught up. Someone in the comments on insta said they lived by the port that the palettes were meant to go through And they were shocked at how backed up it was. They said there were way more boats than normal and you couldn't see the end of the line.
I completely understand where you’re coming from. I’ll admit I do have the mindset that if nearly every other indie brand can figure it out why can’t they. It makes me very sad for the people who can’t get their hands on the products even through forwarding services (because they cancel orders to them) I believe this latest issue is real because I saw many people mentioning having issues with a bunch of brands because the Suez Canal is backed up but I haven’t done a ton of research into it.
@@rachelel9087 OK, I've read what they wrote on IG and through some IG comments and you might be right that I'd been a bit harsh with them this time. But they cherry picking countries they ship to and not responding to my e-mails was way long ago, before covid was even a thing. It was before the Whalesong palette release which was in april 2019. I still think them cancelling all the orders before investigating the problem, just based on a Google search, is really unprofessional. One of my favourite British clothing brands has recently had shipping problems because of brexit, their usual delivery partner returned all of their packages to my country and they didn't cancel the orders, they found out what was wrong and resent the packages. I bet most of the Menagerie customers wouldn't mind paying the shipping again, just to get their hands on this palette.
I'm curious how this whole situation plays out. If they don't refund all the cancelled orders soon, I will stand by my original opinion that their behaviour is pretty shady.
Menagerie didn't even try to fix the international problem though. just said "oops oh well, refunding you all & you can just miss out" parphrasing obviously but still. As an international the idea of missing this palette is heartbreaking to me.
Didnt you get the email? Yes they are refunding us. But we're able to request a new invoice and get the stuff we ordered, when shipping is back on🥰
They did try to inquire with the international shipping service as to what they could do to or what the problem was, but got no response. The issue is likely just that all the shipping ports are so backed up right now that they just sent the orders back. So basically there’s not really anything they can do, besides try again to ship them in a couple months. They will likely open up international shipping to customers for the next round of orders. I understand that it’s frustrating, but there’s literally nothing else they can do.

I love Annette and I feel like I’m going to buy it, because Menagerie is my favorite brand and I have all of their other palettes. Also the fact that the packaging is pretty and you can customize the palette. I am pretty disappointed by the dupes though...there’s not really even that many shades within Menagerie’s stock to compare with. I feel like it wouldn’t have been that hard at all to make sure there’s at least a little bit of a difference with each shade so we’re not buying a bunch of the same shades...:/ Is this not generally something that’s discussed when making collab palettes?
I guess it would depend on the person and if that is a priority for them. I’m assuming Annette has a very specific color story she wanted for the palette so even though there’s a close shade here and there throughout other palettes her final vision was what mattered? I’m just guessing 😂🙈
I honestly think I will pass on this one - which is a shame, because Annette did a great job and I want this palette. I understand indie vs mainstream, but it shouldn't be so difficult to buy a product (low stock for initial launch, limited, no international shipping right now). I am kind of over it. I absolutely will not fight for a palette lol If they make it permanent and open up shipping, I will consider in future.
