- The Eleanor Roosevelt (Baleària) is the world's first fast ferry for passengers and cargo powered by natural gas internal combustion engines, it was launched at the Armon shipyard in Gijón and has just started operating in Denia. It is a pioneering ship at the level worldwide that has had the participation of leading international companies and has involved an investment of 90 million euros, also is the
longest fast ferry in the world, thanks to its 123 meters.
El Eleanor Roosevelt de Baleària es primer fast ferry del mundo para pasajeros y carga propulsado por motores de combustión interna a gas natural,fue botado en los astilleros Armon de Gijón y acaba de comenzar a operar en Denia .Se trata de un barco pionero a nivel mundial que ha contado con la participación de destacadas empresas internacionales y ha supuesto una inversión de 90 millones de euros, además, es el ferry rápido más largo del mundo, gracias a sus 123 metros.

It is real long ship. Ferst ship for working LNG. Speed 36 meils. I have chains worked on board. Believe me it is hard job 16 hours

Eso del mas largo del mundo lo dudo mucho. Ya que el fast ferry mas largo del mundo es el Benchijigua Express de la compañía Fred Olsen con 126m.

No es el más largo, ni el más rápido y no es el primero en propulsión a GNL. Revise por favor el Ferry "Francisco" que opera entre Montevideo y Buenos Aires construido por INCAT
Only for now, it's the longest catamaran ferry in the world. Until Incat launches the 130m catamaran (also LNG powered) ferry for Buquebus soon. Just pointing it out.
Funny enough this ship was designed and built by Incat Crowther Au. Austal exterior with the inclusion of Incat's signature center bow while the pax and vehicle deck screams Incat. Let the vessel have its braging rights for the while nah, right now just enjoy the beauty of a incat/austal hybrid 😂😂😂

It is even more exciting when the ship reaches port from A to B safely. Not made for Balearia skippers.

Correction - Incat Tassie built the world first catamaran in 1977 : so it's fitting that Incat will always be 2 steps ahead of the wannabes....I recalled when INcat was struggling to get contracts in the early 90 nineties!?!... and Prime Minister Paul Keating - gave them $10 million bucks free of charge " the Naysayers criticised him to no avail, His reply was " I make no apology for supporting an Aussie Icon.

@@JavierRullanRuano Supongo que será en su tipo o linea de construccion en doble casco o catamarán, distinto al trimaran como el de Fred Olsen o bien monocascos como los italianos tipo Tera Jet.

According to the Balearia company that owns the ship, "Its name pays tribute to one of the most important historical figures of the 20th century, promoter of the Declaration of Human Rights. Eleanor Roosevelt was a writer and activist for gender equality and civil rights. "She was the first president of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights."
