To those unaware why War Machine is in the game:
At the time, Tony (Iron Man) was being used by a different company during the time when MVC1 was being developed. He was off-limits, and couldn’t be used. To counter this, CAPCOM simply grabbed Iron Man’s sprite from MSH, recoloured them to Grey and Cyan and War Machine is in the game (plus Hyper War Machine). Now you know why War Machine is in the game.

Fighting Gambit, Chun-Li and Hulk was always a pain in the ass in this game - but well worth it as this game is never boring. This was the peak of the 6 button fighting mechanics that the Vs. series was known for. It feels so fluid and smooth here. It was also pretty damn good in the previous game, Marvel Vs. Street Fighter. It sucks that this layout didn't return for Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. I still don't like the 4 button attack layout in that game.
