I had similar issues on iPhone ios 16 recently - when I try to run WhatsApp backup is just displays Backing Up Preparing and stucks there forever. I tried multiple suggestions like removing the WhatsApp backup in icloud, resetting networking settings, disabling icloud backups for WhatsApp etc ... None worked until I did an ios update and the WhatsApp backups started working without any issues.
Mine’s stuck too so maybe a whatsapp issue or iphone compatibility issue but don’t know how to fix it. I’ve logged the issue with whatsapp so just awaiting a reply now

I made a backup to trasfer chats and photos of whatsapp to my new phone , but i have a problem .. every now and then whatsapp keeps duplicating photos and save it to my gallery .. any help ?
Hi. I have tried transferring whatsapp data from the old phone to the new phone. Around 50% or 56% of the transfer it stopped. It refuses to let me transfer and it activated the account on the new phone. As a result I now have whatsapp with no contacts and no data on the new phone. Only groups were transferred. I'm trying to restore my WhatsApp back up from my old android phone to my newer android phone... I've uninstalled Whatsapp on the new phone and re-installed it again. When I open it now I get the Profile info page. I'm worried that if I start filling in my details that it might just set up a new account and all my last 15 years of chat history will be gone. I'm feeling quite sick about this situation as there is so much important information contained in those messages. Please please help I'm not the most technical of people but at 68 yrs old I do my best. Thanks in advance. Bob
Hi Bob , when you transfer your Whatsapp from one anroid to another, you need to first loin whatsapp account on your new phone, and it will ask u to tap in the profile, and after that, it will be a brand new account, but here is when you start to transfer all your whatsapp data from old phone to the new one, IT IS NORMAL THAT WHEN YOU FIRST LOG IN AND DON'T HAVE ANYTHING ON IT, you can transfer your data after log in , did you back up your data on your old phone? you can back it on in whatsapp settings

It didn't work because when I click the WhatsApp icon I'm taken immediately to the Profile Info page... when I put in mt details I eventually get the message that it can't connect and try latet. I've uninstalled and installed WhatsApp so many times. Why isn't it working properly????
did you log in with the same phone number and the same profiles? if you log in with the same number and this can't work that may be a network problem. Did you exit your WhatsApp account on your old phone? if that is a new account you can try to change the password and do that again ,but if you use new account on you new phone, whatsapp may not be able to transfer the data for account a to account b. if you still can't get into whatsapp on your phone , you can contact whatsapp official to help!
