Blazor Synchronicity; Develop Server & WASM Apps Simultaneously: Carl Franklin's Blazor Train ep 4

- On this episode of Blazor Train I’ll show you how you can develop a Blazor WASM app AND a Blazor SERVER app -- at the same time -- from a single code base, and why you’d want to do that in the first place.

nice tutorial with a little touch of that music to code by
Glad you liked it!
Lol... This does not work for me lol. Would like the ability to turn off background music while the demo goes on.
can you please help with the following error? Microsoft.NET.Sdk.Razor.StaticWebAssets.targets(411, 5): Conflicting assets with the same target path 'css/bootstrap/bootstrap.min.css'. For assets 'Identity: ........................................... I am using net6
Just wanna know, in future videos, will you use devexpress components with blazor??
Anyone else getting a build error, similar to "The static web asset ...bootstrap.min.css has a conflicting web root path? Not sure how to fix this. (I'm using VS Community Edition, 16.8.5)

When trying this out with .NET 5 in VS Preview I can run server and WASM just fine separately but when I run both the WASM is missing all the left sidebar and the top-row in main where About is. I can´t find out at this moment what is causing it. Any idea?
Hello. Thanks for the question. Carl is using .NET Core 3.1. Since .NET 5 is still in preview.
Today, the weekend after DotNetConf2020, I am running dotnet 5.0 release version and get the missing side bar Sturla comments on.
@@NicholasStein @Sturla and @Nicholas, I recommend posting this issue to Microsoft on their GitHub page:github.com/dotnet/aspnetcore/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+sidebar
Would you secure the API with a Bearer Token in both WASM and Server apps?
Hi Brad. WASM, yes. If your API is hosted anywhere but the Blazor server, then yes.
@@DeveloperExpress Could u explain a little bit ur answer please
@brad green if u got it could u tell me what he mean
thanks
For some reason, I also get the following exception "''
Hello. Thanks for the question. It sounds like a typo around the
I also had this error message too and fixed by pointing to the WASM port not the Server port.
Hahaha you just made me your fan. I like the way you explain things especially the TIP!!!
Well I've been looking for someone to explain to me how storage (session and local) works and implement them in wasm? Maybe you could make a video about it. Thanks
Not sure you answered "why you’d want to do that in the first place" I also think the terms cause confusion here. You have a server app and a server but the server app uses the client to access the server. I will keep watching the videos but so far this seems like a confusing setup.
@Ryan, Thanks for your support, we appreciate it. At the 1:14 mark, Carl mentions 'running the same app in different environments'. As he also mentions, even if you don't want to develop your apps this way, it's a good exercise to learn.

Can you kill the background music?
Hi there. Carl removed the music in future episodes. So most of the episodes don't have the music.
Background Music drives me crazy
Good content but the music kills my focus
Ryan Martin
That’s interesting because Carl is a musician who creates music to help you focus to code.
@@charles-y2z6c @Ryan I think there are two kinds of programmers: those for whom music blots out external stimulus, and those for whom music is the external stimulus, and therefore disturbs concentration. It just depends on how your brain/ear works. As a musician, I find music disrupting because I listen to music, it is not background for me. But that is just me, I am sure other musicians would react differently. Cheers!
@@NicholasStein
Thank you, I couldn’t agree more. Programmer just like everyone have their differences.
@@NicholasStein
One other comment. I find disruptions actually helpful at certain points. If I am deep into the groove with no answer to a problem a disruption can stop the failing path. After a walk or maybe a chat with a fellow programmer can reorient my thinking. But constant disruption is bad.
@@NicholasStein I'm one of those people that struggles when music is playing (no matter the relative volume) while trying to listen to someone talk, my brain fixates on the music over their speech. It becomes quite tiring. This happens independent of whether I like the music or not, but it is perhaps more grating when the music is not to my taste. I so wish video creators would choose to restrict music to intros and outros only.
FWIW, I have this issue with movies too.
Too much talk, little coding
