Thanks for sharing your Cooktown trip. Silly me forgot to go up the lookout, we were too busy talking to everyone in the street. It's a really good hardware store as well. Fishing off the jetty is great, we spent an afternoon there with a lovely lady one afternoon after meeting up the street earlier the day before, black bream on prawns is the hot tip.
You where so close to the best free camp in Australia!! Have to leave it to the people that have found it! Thanks to the awesome aboriginal community that let us in to see heaven on its day 🙏
Loved the Happy Campers segment. What a lovely couple, lovely seeing such a young family giving it their best. Well done. Will definitely check them out next time we are up that way.
Loving season 7, that area is a fantastic part of the Country. Hmmmm sounds like I need some orchards in my life, even deception would be enough for me lol.
Never thought I’d ever visit Cooktown in my life time but I am so glad we did, been up there FNQ the Cape it’s absolutely wonderful due for another visit back to Cooktown again…❤🎉
Surprised, no visit to the Capt Cook Museum, it is extremely well laid out and the building has an incredible history attached to it, officially opened by the Queen. Well worth a visit and support from us ‘tourists’.
Boy Finch Bay got bitumen road, I lived in Cookstown for 14 years from 80/94 look to me the not quite place use be, guess that progress, but progress in wrong way.
Wonderful episode guys !! Having travelled to Cape York, Iron Range NP, Coen and Archer River, but not to Cooktown, your episode makes me want to visit there next time :) -- great tips, beautiful camp site, eateries and those mangoes -- wow!!
Please, please check out Endeavour River Escape near Cooktown, it is only 20min north near the Airport, it is a most fabulous place to stay, bush camping at its best, we have stayed here 3 times now and absolutely love it! They give you a very big grassed area for your Van, toilets and Hot Shower block, free washing machine (if you bring your own generator), Camp Kitchen, plenty of potable drinking water and your own Fireplace where you are allowed to fetch wood from the bush, they also even have a daily pick up of your rubbish, what more can you ask for? This site is a 10/10, can’t wait to return..
Yes Josh, it is very Pet and Kid friendly, there are a couple of large friendly Goannas that will come around to your camp looking for a feed, no problems here. As to Croc's again no problem also beside the camping area is a bush road through some spectacular jungle, this ends at a small tributary of the Endeavour River where you can fish, the property owners have put up some fencing here to give you some added protection just in case. At the back of the property, through a Gate is a good 4WD road that takes to to some spectacular locations like Eddies Beach and the Coloured Sands and more. Those travellers who want to travel on up to the Cape taking only their vehicle can leave their Caravan on site for free. As I have stated we love this place, can't wait to return next year.. our last visit we stayed for two weeks with our friends and two dogs. Also almost forget to mention, the Airport is nearby where they run regular charter flights up to Cape York, our friend David took one of these flights and he said it was a trip of a lifetime!
Loved the video, the food looked absolutely delicious, Cooktown looks a great place to visit, please tell young Jasper He looked great as a Vampire 🧛♂️ in your intro, take care, stay safe, 👍😀
Thank you for another great episode, you guys never let us down. $2.45 for diesel in remote Cooktown is pretty good. Diesel is currently the same price at Heathcote in southern Sydney.
😅👍 I think trial and error to be honest on height - what’s great is you just unclip and move up or down one segment at a time a test out getting in and out - also try laying on a slight diagonal that will make it really comfy too - also check out Nakie website as they have loads of how to vids 🌴☀️👍
