Love the video guys. Great stuff. Just wrapped up an excellent small unit force on force class with OTG and I can’t recommend them enough. I’m a pipeline designer with very limited experience and they broke things down in a way I could understand and were hilarious while doing it! As mentioned in the outro, they don’t care what you do or who you are. Do yourself favor and go take a class. Make yourself better and exercise that 2A right.
widest door i've ever seen in my life, but i know it's because no matter what even a 10.5" ar15 is too long for any of these to look useful. front of gun will always come through first, they're totally right about getting gun up as fast as possible
Good video. Each shoulder position has it's place. As you suggested at the end, Force On Force is needed to truly vet the technique. Based on feedback from the real world (SOF units overseas), low ready (in general) is best. When operators removed the stock from the shoulder, they weren't getting the hits they needed and in turn were getting shot from the enemy. That being said, there are times based on the situation where high ready or over-the-shoulder might be needed. I love the fact that you teach all the methods and have the student decide. Looking forward to the next video.
I’d like to see this run at a shoothouse and unaware of the target. It’s easy to step into a room and shoot a target you know you’re gonna shoot. Now try those techniques and see how long it takes to process if it’s a shoot or no shoot target. One thing I’ve seen over the years is, if you’re entering with your gun up anticipating to shoot then you will shoot a no shoot target more often.
The point of this video was to eliminate other variables like the ones you are mentioning so you could see which shoulder stock position was the fastest. They even have the disclaimer at the beginning lol
@@catalystactual6491 yes I’m aware lol. I’m just saying a part 2 without knowing. More realistic that way. I can shoot a target fast when I know it’s a shoot target and where it is. Harder when you have to scan and process it. FYI not a keyboard warrior. Do this professionally full time for almost 18 years now. 🤙
All that would change is individual PID times. It would not prove or disprove one of these techniques being better or worse. Simply not what we’re trying to test with this video. Obviously you are correct that training with unknown targets is extremely important, it’s just not important for this video.
@@oriontraininggroupllc2782 👍🏻 All good. Definitely enjoy watching your videos and seeing how they can help me personally to improve. Definitely not saying there is no point to the video. We’ve found for us low ready is the standard sop. Allows us a clear view to positively id our targets and prevents an accidental no shoot. Not as fast as coming in on target but for us preventing an accident is more important. Keep up the good work, always learn something from you guys.
We have done extensive testing between short stocking and keeping the rifle in the shoulder. We see no real perceivable visual difference from the perspective of the target between the two entries at normal speed. A easy way to do this is to set up a camera in the perspective of the target and make a bunch of entries utilizing different techniques. I personally would not take a shot without the rifle unshouldered unless essentially a contact shot. I also want to be ready to shoot at every point of the entry and not just for the hard corner.
We’ve actually talked about all attending milsim west together soon, it would be awesome. Finding the time and making the money make sense is the only issue.

as said in the video, we are checking on one thing and one thing only, shot delivery vs exposure. Center stepping adds an unnecessary variable that would only serve to complicate what is being evaluated

Haven't watched the video yet, and I'm looking forward to more great content by gents I respect, but I will say, going into the video, that the shoulder position, or what we used to refer to as "short stocking," was very useful in my experience. I teach the position in my rifle courses and will continue to teach the shoulder position until I finally retire this profession.

Come to find out, the detent that held in the gas plug failed, and he launched the plug down range .
