Hi… I think I know what you mean… with the “complete” feeling!
My take on it is a kind of holistic sense, more than the eye or the brain or the intention.
I have tried to believe, I had a lot more to do… but suddely got the feel it was completed (a painting of af portrait, as well as other stuff)…
So my brain and intention as well as the plan, was that I had to do more… but luckily I listend to the “stop-feel” … felt like a resistance and stopped. Life was present in the painting and no need to overwork or “explain” anymore.
I find finishing a painting is a vast challenge … more difficult than starting up - so the feel is important.
All the best from a fulltime Danish artist. 😊

Birds are fascinating to paint. They can do something we can't ... they can fly and when they are in a flock, hundreds of birds can behave, as if they were one individual.
I see many pictures in that, so it's probably not the last bird painting from me.

Many painters in the US, use a stay wet palette, instead of reconstituting the paint in water. The palette box has a wet cloth under the paints to keep the acrylics moist, so whenever you are finished for the day, you just put the lid on the self contained palette box that holds the paints.
I don't know how long it can be used that way, but some people really like it. You are from the same country that my former boss is from. He is a scientific researcher at a US hospital, where I used to work, before I retired several years ago.

Thanks for this. I love how u delivered and explained the process clearly and simply. Im just starting my creative journey but much of what u say makes sense and i sort of discovered these thoughts too (not so well formulated as your dialogue thought). I loved the work too!

I just found you and your painting…I enjoyed this so much…I follow several artists on YT and it’s a joy to find someone new who is so worthy. I love the piece you did…..for me when you changed the background and the screen switch between the yellow and the blue everything inside me moved. I felt aaahaaa! And it wasn’t that I didn’t like the yellow..I did. But there was a beautiful calm that came over me as I saw the blue. Looking forward to the next. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for this lovely video. I'm torn between yellow Vs blue but honestly, if it were my painting, I would now simply add back a few more touches of the yellow, perhaps a deeper hue of yellow, as it really catches your eye but do like the blue sky background very much. Also, I too, frequently use the color shapers, loved seeing you use them as they are the greatest tool for abstraction.

Thank you. I'll take this deeper hue of yellow into consideration, when I get the painting back. It is out on an exhibition right now. Greetings from Denmark.

Call me crazy but when you first put it on the canvas I though it was perfect as is. Finished. I’d hang it on my wall just like that. I loved the yellow background and liked the blue background. You’re a great artist. Three paintings in one but there can be only one and no going back.

The perfect is a strange phenomenon. My paintings are not ... it would be nice if they were.
Also remember that Perfect is the enemy of good.
I try to paint good paintings first, and then maybe one day there will be one that is absolutely perfect.

Hi old guy, I old agree. Not being the arbiter of what constitutes good taste I can only say perfect for me and my taste. Im going to follow you now to see where you go next. Cheers.
