I was at Dr. Levine's office the day this interview was posted. And I was immediately humbled and impressed by her deep warmth and caring and such good down-to-earth nature, as well as how nice her team was, too. I think that comes through in this video, but it is even more remarkable face-to-face. And it was such a relief, as if the weight of the world was lifted from my shoulders, to finally speak with a physician who thoroughly understands the severity of my illness. I cannot even begin to list here the many awful ordeals that I have been through these past 4-years trying to get treatment, but suffice it to say that I cried and thanked God right then and there for getting me into Dr. Levine, a world renown ME specialist who is well-regarded by her peers and her patients and whose reputation needs no further validation. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. May you, your colleagues, your team, and your patients be well and blessed. Also thank you to Lewellyn King for bringing this interview to life!

Where are the younger physicians that will become the next generation of CFS experts? When Dr Levine retires who will take her place? If I went to a CFS conference how many physicians in their mid thirties would be present? I don’t get a sense that we have made much progress on this front - I hope we can attract more young physicians to this field.

Thank you for making this -- it might be a good interview to send to medical students and clinicians. She is my doctor for ME/CFS and if she is retiring in 10 years, then I had better recover in 10 years -- I'm sorry to say, but there aren't any other practices springing up to take her place. I wish there were opportunities for her to come speak at seminars in medical schools.

It is extraordinary that the Lake Tahoe, Incline Village outbreak is so famous, as it should be, for this is where the CDC investigation started that led to the creation of the CFS syndrome... but no CFS researcher ever looked into it.
Deborah Waroff of ME/CFS Alert came out last year and filmed the story of how all researchers decided to never investigate our outbreak,
but she apparently decided not to release it.
Perhaps because this oversight is so outrageous that it would discredit the entire ME/CFS researcher community.

most people with a microwave arent chronically ill because some people are more sensitive for microwaves, also the distance person/microwave is very important. The oven in another place is more safe. The radiation become less when the oven gets older. Some ovens give less radiation then others. In Russia the allowed radiation is less.

Social media add a burden of reading, all on screens. In the 1990s I was part of a support group that met in someone's living room. That was the most helpful experience, hearing directly from others some of the same oddball symptoms and experiences. The leader of our group kept up a newsletter and a few of us helped on mailing it out. I felt less alone then, as I was meeting real people face to face. Life by e-mail and newsletters is more lonely but all we have now.

Great interview with great hope. My story too corroborates Stanford's ME\CFS research as shown at the recent symposium. I too have recovered from a bed ridden state for several years and I teach what I did at our2ndbrain.com. You will see some references to Stanford's research and I am collaborating with Dr. Phair at Stanford on the metabolism study he is undergoing under Ron Davis at Stanford.

Oh, I know of her. I called her office quite a few months back and was told they weren't taking any new patients.

The cause for me was the microwave oven. This may sound unbelievable: the internet states that the use is harmless or that the danger is cancer or a reduction in vitamins.
The first consequences were: pain in the neck, fatigue, sore throat, depression, .....
After 3 months without a microwave oven these symptoms disappeared.
Consequences are greater the closer the microwave oven is to you: if the oven is right next to your dining table, for example.
If you bring this to your members' attention, those who wish can give it a try and let you know about their experiences. Everyone can now participate in the study!
People will not think much of CFS. Organs are not damaged. It looks more like an internal strangulation.
I don't know if that can be found. The muscles tense under the influence of microwaves (microwave), Hence the pain and the intestines are too tense, which makes digestion poor and too few vitamins are absorbed. In the throat one has pain due to the tensioning of the muscles there. Be careful not to cure other diseases with fatigue for CFS.

She’s a wonderful doctor . Nothing much new though . I would try Ampligen if it was available. Always worth a try . Australian doctors did trials using gamma globulin . We can’t obtain it these days . You could years ago . It helped some people . It didn’t help me .

My dysautonomia cardiologist prescribed my Mestinon, but I didn't take it. I have ME/CFS.
