I get the point of that. I you manage to fatigue and damage fibers you should be good for growth granted you'll eat enough. The main poi t is that its not sustainable as there is a huge lack of pressure on bones and tendons. You can't have big and strong muscles without having big and strong bones and tendons. And that's what calisthenics can not give you. That's what weight training only can achieve.

Thanks, my legs is quite big part of my body weight and im not as strong on the upperbody as on legs, just got genes for the legs lol. First time ive approached squats it was something like 70kg for few reps (i weight 69 now, was lighter before) after only 2 weeks ive squatted 110kg for 3 reps. But i dont want to get huge lehs without big upper body lol. Thats kind a problem for a calisthenics athlete i guess.

I used to be a 180 pound meat head that drank protein shakes 24/7. Id roll my eyes when a calisthenics guy game in to the gym to work out. The irony is now im the calisthenics guy, and eating healthy. I never got compliments or looks during my meat head/bodybuilding days, not a single one!!!!. But when im doing my calisthenics, everyone looks at me in amazement, and i get always get a compliment from someone who has never seen me before in the gym.

It's hard to not "take protein." Protein isn't something you have to buy separately in a store. There is a trace of protein in nearly every meal. Eggs, any kind of meat, milk or any other form of dairy, beans, tofu, peanut butter, nuts, etc. But if you struggle getting enough of it naturally, buying protein powder can help. I think Austin tries to get most of his protein from food but does take protein powder. And yes, you do need protein to build muscle. it's actually impossible to build muscle without protein. Easiest way to do this? Just get addicted to milk and drink 6 gallons a week (Rich Froning, 4 times Crossfit Games champion does this..haha).
Wow! I like they way you expressed and said what calisthenics is. I've been a few months into it and to be honest with you all... I feel stronger and motivated than ever. Back a few years ago I tried more than once each year to convince myself that I was going to make my body change by lifting weights or using the row or any other machine from the gym. But due to my lack of self-motivation and understanding how the machines worked, I ended up leaving the gym or paying for a membership that I NEVER USED. Since doing calisthenics I have a complete different view of what a body improvement means.

Eggs, any kind of meat, milk or any other form of dairy, beans, tofu, peanut butter, nuts, etc. But if you struggle getting enough of it naturally, buying protein powder can help. I think Austin tries to get most of his protein from food but does take protein powder. And yes, you do need protein to build muscle. it's actually impossible to build muscle without protein. Easiest way to do this? Just get addicted to milk and drink 6 gallons a week (Rich Froning, 4 times Crossfit Games champion does this..haha).

Wow! I like they way you expressed and said what calisthenics is. I've been a few months into it and to be honest with you all... I feel stronger and motivated than ever. Back a few years ago I tried more than once each year to convince myself that I was going to make my body change by lifting weights or using the row or any other machine from the gym. But due to my lack of self-motivation and understanding how the machines worked, I ended up leaving the gym or paying for a membership that I NEVER USED.
Since doing calisthenics I have a complete different view of what a body improvement means.
