I've been watching your channel since monohull days... watching the kids grow up & enjoying your world travels. Now that the kids are leaving the nest it's going to be interesting to watch the channel morph again! I know it will be fun & it's always an education. Keith is always impressing me with his fitting out new equipment or fixing things that come up... & You are a great filmmaker, Renee! I really appreciate your channel!

Keith and Renee: Just a delight. :) Everyone of them is a young adult who is a well trained, project planner, independent thinker, with an excellent hereditary and developed I.Q. Each of them will excel at anything they chose to do. We have said it before.....they are a testament to your true success as parents. Congratulations to you both. :)

Thanks for everything. So much observed, learned, and enjoyed. Wishing all of the Zatara family, crew past and present, the absolute best. We weren’t Patreons but definitely intense followers throughout your adventures. Again, thank you for everything along the way, what a job you’ve done raising the kids, can’t wait to see what’s next for all (happy to hang with Finn in Los Angeles or Puerto Vallarta in exchange for sailing/kiting time). Cheers and warm regards, 🤗

You have such a large boat you’ll have so many opportunities to have Patrons and guest’s aboard and half of your videos going forward for awhile may be hysterical with your bloopers with Keith yelling in the background …. what are you doing? lol

Ever since Finn started talking about van life I have thought it would be best if he wasn't alone also I think its better if you have someone to share new adventures with. So now that Luke mentioned he is thinking about tagging along I think as long as they get along that would be good. Had really hoped to make it to Miami to meet you all but being from NJ it didn't workout. Best of every thing to Kate Finn Jack & Luke!

As a long- time Vanagon owner I was happily surprised to see the VW Van is one Finn "s considering . ....VW stopped producing the Vanagon water- cooled model in 1992 ...it morphed into what is called EuroVan and the engine was moved up front ....a modified Audi model I heard. Regarding a travel mate ..I was thinking the same thing . Luke , being an ex-ship mate ( trust) should tag along for this excursion . I'm older than Keith is and bought my Van in my 20s ....had lots of fun in this unique< but badly underpowerd rig. (90hp)......I'm Canadian ....like Glory is lol. The best to all crew of Zatara!!...safe passage and travels !!

Keith, get a tuning fork for your first aid kit. It is a quick way to check for broken bones. Here’s how: hit the tuning fork to get it vibrating then touch whatever bones you suspect is broken with the handle of the fork. If it hurts like all get out then it is likely fractured.

I have been watching your channel religiously for years, and it truly has been a delight to not only come along for all the adventure but to watch your kids grow into amazing humans. Jack, the leader and thoughtful one, Finn, the comedian and skilled musician, and Kate the fearless and creative. They will be missed, but I know deep down that these are the types or risks that you’ve raised them to take. Cheers to ALL of you.

I love my kids and it was so hard when the last one left the nest, you have all three leaving at the same time.
My head tells me, “this is what we raise them for is to be independent “ my heart says otherwise!
Blessings as you all go your separate ways.

Luke, definitely pick the adventures over college (at least for now). As a 33yo man, I did the college route right out of high school and started a family in my 20's. I love my life and family, but have regrets about not being adventerous when I was younger, and I definitely live adventerous through watching you guys' videos on my lunch break at my desk LOL. I just love watching the whole family and Luke enjoying life to the fullest. I wish I would have been able to see and do what all of you have done all these years. Cheers to you. Renee if I were a movie producer, I would definitely hire you to film and help produce, edit one of my films. You are that good. Can't thank you enough for sharing all of these. I hope you have some hidden videos none of us have seen to post after Jack, Finn and Kate leave the nest to keep them in our hearts. I really really wish they would stay around longer. Finn, let me tell you about my adventure with VW Westfalia vans-it's been a rollercoaster of laughs and mechanic bills! I cherished owning one until I had to swap out the original engine for a Subaru and practically renovate it weekly. It is over 35 years old. I think I spent more on parts than the van's actual worth! Can you believe it? But hey, if you're after the ultimate van experience, consider the Mercedes diesel van. It's stealthier, more reliable (hello airbags, brakes, and engine!), and with the right modifications, it'll take you almost anywhere, even on those rough roads. just my dime. Good luck on your adventures.

Oh my gosh, I'm going to miss this part of my Thursday mornings! Your family is such an inspiration to young and old. I tried van life in my 60s but was ill-equipped for the surprises and challenges. I did manage it from Boise, over through Yellowstone (recommend highly!) and points east, then down to Georgia to spend time with my dad in his final days. Now I am working toward my Ph.D., a lifelong dream. My point is that following one's dreams should happen to all of us restless souls who want more out of life. You all do that, and I want to wish you the very best in all your future endeavors. And I will be watching whenever I see any of your videos pop up. Much love Zatara! ❤

Great video! I retired at 49 and purchased a class A motor home and my twin brother and I traveled all over the country and Canada and Mexico for twelve years and just loved it. We met hundreds of people on the way who traveled in motor homes. We even rented a motor home in Europe for a couple of months. I know young couples who live the van life and just love it.. So your son will love it too. It will be much more fun if their is another person along with him but some single people have their dog with them which does making videos more fun to watch.

Such talented young people who are well prepared to live on their own, but having 3 of them leave all a once would be so emotional. I still remember crying when my now 48-year-old son went to kindergarten! He was fine, his mother was not. He has made it through many milestones into middle age very well, but as a parent, life never is the same again. Your grown children leaving tugs at my heart for you. So many abrupt changes in all your lives leaves me both wanting to see or hear about all the adventures and yet wanting to know how you manage as parents all the changes this brings for you on an emotional level. May God bless!

We used to hunt lobsters in the Florida keys. We’d get a couple folks being pulled by a slow moving boat dragging a couple of ropes. When you saw a good spot, you let go of the rope and go drag them out of their hiding spot. We went on the opening days of amateur season so legal lobsters were pretty available. A week later it would be a lot harder. Then you pretty much had to have scuba gear so you could stay down and use tickle sticks to check every hole. You use the stick to tap the lobster on the butt and they will come out of their holes. You never stick your hand in a hole without knowing what’s in it. You might lose a finger or two!

The trick to going down is to use a 10 lb (tied off) weight. Hold it until you get to the bottom then release it and when you're done pull the weight back on board! You'll have more time on the bottom because you'll use no air getting there. It works for me.

You will feel sad at first, but somehow we adjust to new phases in our lives... Best wishes to all of you, and I will be following each of you.

It is bit of a sad episode. I've watched those kids grow up on the ocean, and I gotta say you did one hell of a job!! I look forward to you and Keith's future adventures. Much success to the kids on their endeavours. Finn, good call on a great Canadian musician and songwriter , Gordon Lightfoot. GBNF

I’ve watched every episode of sailing zatara, right from the beginning. This episode gave me goosebumps thinking that it might be the last sailing video all together.
The kids are so well rounded, and they’re well equipped for whatever they want to do with life! They’ve seen so much more than children who live on land!
Please keep on filming so we can see how you can Keith get on, maybe you’ll go for a second circumnavigation!

    That’s ironic
I’m turning 55 next month and have pipelined on some of the biggest spreads of n the United States
I’m looking forward to enjoying these same priceless experiences soon

Oh Wow.. Like so many on here who have journeyed with you from monohull days, we too are going to miss the antics that is "Zatara". You have made us smile, kept us entertained and inspired us to embark on our own adventure's, some even following the boating lifestyle. As the final chapter in this book comes to conclusion, it's comforting to know that the next epic series has four books... And we cannot wait to take that journey with y'all.

This feels like the last episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S for me. I’ve been with you since the monohull days, an end of a era 😢 You Guys rock, thanks for allowing us to be part of your family. Already subscribed to the kids when they opened their channel so grateful to see their lives lived as they wish now. Apron strings cut and now Mum and Dad, you’ve done your job of parents beautifully, they are independent thinkers which is imperative and it’s now your time to spread your wings. Take good care and enjoy being with your extended family ☮️💜

Ohhh this is so sad! I can't believe they all grew up so much so fast and you are all getting in different directions. I can't believe it! I've been watching from the beginning, Years!! and .....Thank you Renee for keeping filming. Your filming is what kept us all watching. You did a great job and hopefully we will continue seeing more and new adventures. Good luck to all of you. Your children are amazing and love the idea of Jack and Kate going to Tonga and Finn, keep playing your guitar and producing music. Maybe that's what you should study. My son is a music producer in London . I support him 200% in his decision and love what he is doing. Love you guys!! ❤

I found y'all about 6 months ago and quickly came to love you all. I am 65 and grew up as something of a boat kid myself so your adventures afford joy and significant meaning to me. I am also the father to 2 fantastic boys (33 and 26) who are on their own and very successful, so I am empathetic to the emotions of letting go, of which y'all seem to be at the beginning stages. I unfortunately was not able to give my boys nearly as much boat life as my father gave me or as much you have given your kids... But I have to say that Jack, Finn, and Kate are truly spectacular in their knowledge, resilience, and maturity - you should be very, very proud and feel comfortable that they will make their way with confidence, grace, and real capability. I will continue to follow all of your youtube channels with enthusiasm - thank you for the vicarious adventures I long for but can no longer take on myself. Peace, fair winds, and safe travels to all !

You and Kieth are ever inspiring. So happy I discovered your family and the med crew over the summer. Looking forward too everyone’s vlogs. I wonder if any of the med crew will join the kids or you and Kieth sailing at some point.

Hope you can stop at Windward Beach Marine in Jacksonville Beach, FL. It's on the Intracoastal and very chill. All the amenities are around here. I'd be happy to greet you at the dock and hang out for a bit. I've lived here with my family since November of 1996. We lived at the beach until 2003, when we bought a house in Jacksonville proper. I'm only a few minutes from the marina (I just did a double bridge run past there today - perfect weather). Steve Tamburrino.

Keith and Renee, I have been watching your family’s adventures since the very beginning. I have a strange mix of sad and exciting feelings for all of you. Sad that the kids are going their own way. Each of them are engaging and entertaining in their own unique way. You should be proud that you’ve raised some great human beings. But I’m excited to see everyone’s next adventures! And we’ll see you and Keith OUT THERE in Texas… in Montana… on the water! New engines!!! Zoom, zoom! Looking forward to when you start interviewing to take old couples on as crew for Caribbean sailing adventures! Because that would fit my wife and I! LOL! 😂 Love to you all! ❤️

I’m Rob from England - motorcyclist of a certain age. Born and bred in Dartmouth England - you should go there one day as you will count it amongst the most beautiful and quaint places you have visited I’m sure. Been watching you for years but not since monohull. Rarely comment I’m afraid because I watch on the TV. But after this episode I thought I should say something. You should both be so proud as to the way your kids have worked out - bright, well balanced and independent. It’s right now they find their own way though and what a choice they have. Jack is an amazing guy - been watching his channel and he is an impressive young man. Kate is still young but she will be with Jack - good for her! Finn - an impressive musician and athlete - good luck to him touring the US by van. As for you two - the start of a new life. Seriously though, you should try the UK and Ireland. Ok it’s. Not the tropics but it’s still
Stunning. Thanks to you both for entertaining us all these years. 🤗

How amazing your journey as a family has been & it brought tears to me, I can't imagine for u2, as parents, sending them off after being so closely together for the past 7 yrs, no comparison to 99.9999% of the rest but u ought to be sososososo proud as u've given sososososo much to your kids to do well in the world & be a blessing to their generations! I've been on the road for over 9 yrs since I left London, 30+ countries now & the journey's been more than enriching in just about every single way and the worse is, I absolutely do not know how to go back to my life before except to journey on and so should u2, as they are tons more to explore & experience ahead that's for sure!!!
