      @@TheHobbyistMiner my only suggestion when doing these types of videos is to slow down the panning, you move around a lot fast and its really hard to focus on the details of the video. I try my best to not move the camera and if I do move it really slowly so people can see and not get sick hahah ;) Besides that I love everything youre doing!

    What device should you use?

  • @daniellavoie8379
    @daniellavoie8379 10 месяцев назад +1

    Speaking from experience, I highly recommend using fiber optic between the house and the mining shed to eliminate the risk of a nearby lightning strike zapping every network devices in both the house and shed.

    • @TheHobbyistMiner
      @TheHobbyistMiner  10 месяцев назад

      I get it, if money was unlimited and time, sure. But honestly fiber is entirely overkill. Need specialist to run and terminate, need fiber trays, need SFPs. Im good with two $40.00 Ethernet Burial Cables. Already tested and runs great. No packet loss, good speeds.

    • @daniellavoie8379
      @daniellavoie8379 10 месяцев назад

      Speaking from experience, the price of a 100' harden patch cable and two sfp would have been much much much less expensive (and less time) than the replacement cost (and time) of all the devices that were physically connected to the LAN "switches, ASICs, motherboards, TVs, PDUs, etc". Hopefully your home insurance covers business equipment such as ASIC and motherboards for GPU miners.

      @@TheHobbyistMiner If your shed and house share the same AC meter, consider using a LAN extender over the 120v AC to avoid using burried Ethernet cables. Not as safe as fiber but safer than burried Ethernet cables.

    I recommend not to put the fire extinguisher inside the shed. If the fire occurs, you won't be able to reach it. 8:28

    So what exactly is the point or purpose of the meter boxes???

    • @TheHobbyistMiner
      @TheHobbyistMiner  8 месяцев назад

      Monitoring watt usage. To make sure you're not maxing out a breaker. Also to help calculate true profitability with hashrate vs electric usage

    the mining shed is looking great. I got some questions though. Whats the electric rate? When will you be able to get it up and running? Can you liquid cool the breakers? < Does keeping the breakers cooler change the 80% rule to about 90%?

    • @TheHobbyistMiner
      @TheHobbyistMiner  10 месяцев назад

      Electric rate will be mid $0.04 Cents.
      More videos to come but soon!
      Last half, i can't answer that but that would be nuts!
