I'm a student pilot and found this very helpful. My CFI is awesome but he is throwing knowledge at me faster than I can take it at times. I'v got so much going on that learning the communication is difficult. I'm still trying to stay alive and land smoothly and it was impossible to hear myself think about what to say while all that was going on. It's nice to finally sit back in my office chair and see how to speak. Thanks again. I'll see if you have any other videos.
+John Wood Thanks for commenting! I’m so glad it was helpful for you to watch. Making these videos helped me learn a lot about communication. I learned to fly at a towered airport (KCRQ), but now I keep my plane at a non-towered airport (KOKB - Oceanside), so I’m lucky to have experienced both types of communication. If you can get a handheld radio and go sit at the airport, that helps too. Here are a couple videos - my third time flying solo: ruclips.net/video/p4xUDSVk8d4/видео.html and my first cross-country with my very patient instructor :) ruclips.net/video/prtJFfu494Q/видео.html Happy flying!
nice self announcing on ctaf! ,was not sure about the other traffic? been a year sense last flight nice to fly along with you! blessings and clear skys! KSUS
Well done...much better than the green and white Archer using the non-standard arrival/approach....i can never understand why pilots deviate from the recommended approaches/arrivals/departures for pilot controlled fields...not safe.... you did a great job Miss Valerie...I would always end my call with the name of airport as well...just to verify that everyone heard which airport you're at.
there are no rules prohibiting it...the airport highly recommends, if you check out their website, a specific type of arrival and departure depending on which direction your heading from and to. If you've ever had a near mid air collision and a pilot controlled field then you'll know what I'm talking about. The majority of pilots in the area follow the recommended procedure, but there's always a small % that do what they want because it is not a "Rule". Although there are never any 100% guarantees, using the recommended procedure is nearly always good practice and airmanship. Thoughts?
Great looking landing......
I saw that smile....you made him enter a proper pattern and you like it, lol...good job!
So professional awesome video.

Gotta love it when you grease it on.
OMG.......I used to fly 361ES in 2008 when it was based in Corona with FlyCorona!! as a matter of fact I did my VT check ride in that plane
VFR apparently autocorrects to VT for some reason
Good job Val!

nicely done
what type of equipment were you using to capture panel audio etc
thanks
+cs512tr Hi! I used a GoPro 3+ with an audio cable that hooked into my headset.
+Valerie Ashton {socalvalerie} cool stuff thankyou :D
safe flying :D
What device are you using to connect radio to your cam?
I used to hate VOR -A to KOKB in IMC.
+khalid sekander I have real no desire to fly into KOKB in IMC - ever!
Actually I liked your video. I thought you sounded pretty confident. Good practice for me to listen in.
+Ray Tonks thanks for watching! I'm glad it was helpful :)
