I’m from Ireland and living in Long Island New York since 2019. Two of my hive’s are doing well and the strongest one helped keep a weaker hive alive over winter with the help of a double screened board. Then a week ago when I made a stupid but successful split I noticed the weaker hive had a laying worker. I newspaper combined them with a nucleus box my in-law purchased and they were fine and quiet an hour later. Meanwhile the split is going well thank goodness. I’m hope to build up to five or six double deeps before the end of season just so I can have resources and option’s to build more next year.
Mug up ta' Arkansas with John and Karin. Good morning from central New Hampshire. I am located in the Lakes Region near Swam Lake, that most people from away know as 'Golden Pond'. Thanks for the solid information and videos that you provide along with all the great country shots. I'm an older, 2nd year beekeeper with a heavily insulated Layens horizontal hives. Forsythe in full bloom, mid spring daffodils in bloom. No dandelions, no clover yet. About time to cut the lawn. Temps yet to hit 70 F. this spring. Bees last '21 fly day was 12/17, first '22 was 3/15. 5/1 bees had just started capping drone comb and building drone cone on available space though out the hive. Times as they have been, your videos and others have been a ready source of information and inspiration, thanks for taking the time and sharing, Brice
Hey Brice, thanks so much for the wonderful comment. We're always happy to hear about how the bees are doing in other parts of the country. We wish you all the best luck in the world, and we hope to hear from you again soon.
I have 3 hive’s and made my first split a week ago, when I went back to the original hive I split from they had a supersedure cell capped and I panicked a little. I’m thinking nooooooo this is my strongest hive and a few minutes later I thanked god for the success in my stupidity. The original queen was in the split box and she has been laying up a storm lol. Now time will tell if this young queen is successful at flying out to mate and returning back, fingers and toe’s crossed. Loving all your video’s thank you both for the quality and the education.
Wow! The amount of times I thought I messed up a hive, only to find out that the bees are smarter than I am....haha! I hope it works out well for you and your bees. Keep us updated, we'd love to know how you're faring!
@@CentralBeekeepersSupply wish I could say! Unfortunately I don't have the space for a hive in my apartment. Though there was a wild hive that moved in to my neighboring building! 😅
It's always worth it once you get them in the box. It's the times when they don't cooperate - that's when I get a little....frustrated. haha! 😂 Thanks for watching!
What a great video. Nice to see the interaction and trust (Love) between you and your wife. Those Bees are really calm and good-natured. At one point the frame was bumped against the box, mine would have given a roar and surrounded me. Sting sting sting.
I just loved watching this video. I really had a chuckle at you in the Tractors bucket!! 🤣 I’m Sally from SW Dorset UK. I have 3 colonies of bees in my back yard and I am thoroughly hooked on Bee Keeping. Keep your videos coming!!!!
Hello there Sally! Thanks for laughing at my misfortune. 😂 We're happy to hear from you loudly and clearly from across the big pond. We're glad you've "caught the bug" of beekeeping. Keep up the good work!
Great catch .The part where your wife said “ you would like for me to do what “ “ come up where “ “ why “ . 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂, you two do a great job . Thanks
OMG that's our entertainment for the night. You in the bucket and her reading the sticker to know which way to move the stick. Hilarious! My wife and I are watching I'm about crying. That hit close to home.😅 Great job on the catch.👍
Great video. I too have taken the tractor bucket ride up to reach swarms. It always seems like a better idea when you’re on the ground than when you get half way up.
I did the same except I use a lid from my swarm box put two frames and screw 1on each ends of the frames on top and I screwed 2 more screw on the pipe 3/4 inch pipe I suppose to have something stronger a black pipe more solid the bees were getting on frames I take them out that way. A idea… good luck
I think you are a beekeeper for longer than me (5 years) I wandered why’re not living the box as close as possible from that tree so they found the box quickly?
You can go to the description box (under the video), click - more- there is a transcript there. I think you can copy the text, and translate it using Google translate. Copy and paste.
Here I am aching for some free colonies to fill up some hive boxes & you just tossing them away like a used up lady of the night, LoL. You the Bee Yard Pimp. On that long hive, I'd have attempting a 6 way split with those 6 Queen cells. As for these 3 swarms I'd have set each one in it's own box and let the bees go in, 3 hives right thar.
LoL I'm with you i can't stand to see a swarm in a tree no matter how big or small it is. I had 1 and was getting it in a box and another one swarmed out and landed on the box i was putting the first one in of course i did us a little bit of swarm commander. That's a good little nuc to start off i started to do the same thing and pinch the 1 queen and let them work it out but both are in the box so winner takes the box. Congratulations on not getting flipped to the moon 👏. RTBBF ❤🐝👍 got a few more videos up check them out. 👍
Haha, yeah it was a close one. Never know when the wife is going to exact some vengeance when I'm in the bucket. haha! Just kidding, she's a keeper. I'll check out the videos! Thanks Michael!
Hey you! Would you leave us a comment to let us know where you're from? Tell us a little about the bees in YOUR bee yard!

70 yo female originally from Florida, now in NC -- no bees here -- love to watch yours though! of all the "Bee Channels" I enjoy yours most!
Thank you for the good laugh before I head underground to work
Enjoy the videos, thanks for taking the time. KEEP IT UP!
We appreciate you watching! Thank you.
Awesome video John!
Thank you much! Great to have you checking out the channel.
Lol, "the other limb behind you is connected" women always have the best suggestions! Glad you made it down with the queen the first time! God bless
Always! Corinne is my right-hand gal and there's no way I'd be anywhere without her help. But yes, the "helpful comments" are plentiful. 😊
Absolutely loved this video! Reminds me so much of myself and my wife. The trust he has in her is amazing 😂
We've definitely been through a lot together that binds our trust. Thanks for watching!

You are a brave man or maybe just crazy! 😂 Not sure I trust my wife’s loader skills that much.
I'm definitely a little of both. 😂
Each swarm should have had its own queen. I'm from Palm Bay Florida and currently have 5 beehives.

I can't understand what say but a little. Whatever it is a very good program.
Msha and OSHA would be so proud!!! 😂
Haha! We haven't gotten a letter yet, so maybe we're under the radar. Something about private land and all that. ;-)
Hello from Dallas!
Hello there, Dallas! Y'all doing ok this spring? How are the bees?
@@CentralBeekeepersSupply wish I could say! Unfortunately I don't have the space for a hive in my apartment. Though there was a wild hive that moved in to my neighboring building! 😅
Nebraska and I'm scared of bees so this is as close as I will get. I was swarmed once and froze in fear but someone came to the rescue
Sorry to hear that! I hope you're ok!
Indianapolis. One of the funniest vid I have seen!! Enjoyed it. Love watching you guys. Awesome family!!
Glad you enjoyed it! We had a lot of fun making it. Thanks so much for watching!
I can see by the look on your face when ya got them on/in the box, :) Yes it was worth it. Ty for sharing your time, Blessed Days...

We've been very fortunate with our bees around the property. They've been calm and understanding of my blunders! Thanks for the comment.

Great catch .The part where your wife said “ you would like for me to do what “ “ come up where “ “ why “ . 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂, you two do a great job . Thanks
haha, it takes a great team to do what we do. We're lucky to have found each other. ❤️

Located in Cabot. Just installed my first nuc yesterday. Love the channel.
Hello Jeff! How are the bees in Cabot this time of year?
Great video. I too have taken the tractor bucket ride up to reach swarms. It always seems like a better idea when you’re on the ground than when you get half way up.
Looking down is always scary from inside the bucket. haha! Glad I'm not the only one!
I did the same except I use a lid from my swarm box put two frames and screw 1on each ends of the frames on top and I screwed 2 more screw on the pipe 3/4 inch pipe I suppose to have something stronger a black pipe more solid the bees were getting on frames I take them out that way. Fine job 👍
Thank you very much!
Outstanding video! 👍👍
Thank you very much! #RTBBF
You make it look so easy. Good job.
Thanks Ron! I don't know if I make it look easy, but it's definitely a lot of fun. :-)
عمل رائع
I hope the dog didn't kill the queen
My husband gives me what I call " crash courses" in tractor and heavy equilment. So far, he's still alive, no permanent damage😂.
Good stuff guys tell me did you give her lessons on them controls. From Northeast Ohio here
Haha, Corinne is usually the one teaching me! :-)
Why not just make three new hives?
I think you are a beekeeper for longer than me (5 years) I wandered why’re not living the box as close as possible from that tree so they found the box quickly?
The.bees.finding.the.box.and.moving.in.is.not.a.sure.thing...
But because I see a Moldavian gentleman using a stick with the frames on side of the improv sticks reach upper about 15 + feet for a swarm
Fun times. Lol
Always something fun going on in the bee yard. :-) Thanks for watching!
I am a srilankan and I have bee colonies and l would like to understand what you say.
.
I wish we had a way to translate it for you! Unfortunately we only speak English. Any suggestions?

Very cool. Nice job. Even if it wasn’t osha approved. 😂😂
Hahaha, we're glad OSHA wasn't there, for sure.
if there's 3 separate swarms wouldn't there bee 3 separate queens? why add them all to 1 box?
I saw 2 queens at least, I personally would have given them separate boxes but it sounded like he was out of room 🤷♀️
This is the answer. Totally out of room at that time.
Great Video John we are blowing up here the flow is on…. Needing more equipment…. If you get time check out my videos …. Keep the videos coming
That's awesome to hear, my friend! Will check out the videos. Thanks for checking in!
