    years ago my grandfather taught me something about managing pain when i was young, he told me to pinch my body while he cleanses my wound. the pinch became sort of the painkiller, easy and less painful, i was
    surprised by that.

    Dr. Moseley, did the pain in your leg stop immediately as soon as you realized it was only a scratch, not a snake bite? Or did it take a long time for the pain to go away?
