    I have the same dome (PD10) and love it. If you come up with a way to make the shutter operate smoothly please post it. Mine has always operated very slow and puts a ton of strain on the motor.

    • @LearnToStargaze
      @LearnToStargaze  3 месяца назад +1

      Our shutter control is ricketey but it works. It’s solar powered, and controlled via Bluetooth.

    I was looking at the 8” Celestron Dob star sense and I was wondering what website should I get it from? Do some ship better than others or are they kinda the same? I have a lot of light pollution near me and I want an upgrade from my Celestron Omni AZ 102.

      I also want to do astrophotography but don’t want to spend $1000, I know the dobsonians struggle with this.

    Interesting. How about the heat in the dome, doesn’t it retain heat inside including the one emanating from the human bodies inside and create turbulences that distort the telescope image ? Will the temperature inside be identical to the one outside (I doubt it). I use my telescopes on a second floor balcony, recently I had the “great” idea to close the balcony with windows… now I can open only 2 out of 6 windows and the temperature inside is 3 degrees Celsius higher than outside resulting in a bad image quality in my telescopes at over 100x magnification. Now I guess I will have to take the windows back down, after I payed over 2000 euro to install them…

      @LearnToStargaze thanks but i can't imagine the views though a c14 because i know you begin to see colours at the diameter of 12 inches from what i heard but 14 is amazing and i saw that you have a 24 inch telescope at work and how are the visual views through this kind of telescope

    • @user-yh8ce7tg8l
      @user-yh8ce7tg8l 3 месяца назад

      @@lucasmorawetz4934 I have apprehensions about the C14 as well. It's a great visual scope, but there are numerous problems with AP using a reflector, especially one with a large mirror like that. Given the effort and cost that went into this project, would think a new triplet would complement the design. Curious to see where this goes.
