Friendly reminder that Artanis could’ve warped out at any time, even when dogpiled by zerglings. Instead he chose to warp out at the last second, just to make sure that Shakuras is destroyed and took as many of Amon’s Zerg with it.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but: The point was to defend the ongoing process from being stopped, right? So... leaving prematurely was not quite an option.
@Be Quiet yeah of course you can't think of any, you don't find them repetitive. Overwatch and starcraft are the main offenders. It's not that the missions themselves are repetitive, it's that you use the same tactics to beat them. It's just not that tactically challenging, especially the multiplayer. The multiplayer is just whoever gets the bigger economy going to fastest, it's a numbers game through and through
not only this. The opening scene with the zealot rush, zeratul's death, and my favorite; the "without the khala what we will become?" All of them are masterpeaces
Credit where credit's due to the writers, not only is this scene epic, but the strategy is actually really quite brilliant. Draw as many zerg into one place as possible and then neutralize them all at once. It wouldn't be enough to destroy the swarm, but it would certainly slow them down and force them to concentrate on rebuilding.
@@sigismundgames7928 True, except the Imperium has so little regard for human life that they just blow shit up, whereas Artanis rescued as many of his people as he could.
I would like to add to this coment that this also counter the whole porpouse of the Exterminatus. Look at it this was, if you kill 1.000.000 enemy soldiers but in doing so you end up killing 700.000 of your own soldiers and 5.000.000 of your own civil population and blowing up a planet worth of resources, militar facilities that provide support, recruitment centers that could enlist more soldiers to bolst your army and an entire industrial infrastructure that could feed your military machine... Wel Those numbers are the exact definition of a pyrric victory where the cost to obtain such victory is so high that it negates and nullifies any tactical advantage or any other benefit that could have been obtained from that victory. As you mention Artanis care for the life of his people AND he also care for the resources and worriors he has at his dispousal. Sure Artanis may had loose a few dozena of warriors in the defense of that temple, but in return Amon sacrifice Billions of his Zerg, Billions of Warrior just to take one planet This battle was a Pyrric victory for Amon, he did manage to flush away the Protoss from their refuge planet, but amount of resources he sacrife to do so cost him the momentun he had previously acuaired and force him to focus his time and resources to rebuil wich gave his enemies enought time to plan their next cpurse of action and acuaire more resourses
As interesting as that would have been, I definitely like subtle approach more with the lighting dimming to the point that Artanis looks to have the shadows and the darkness collapsing around his being as if bowing to the spirit of Zeratul and letting Zeratul place his shroud on Artanis to imbue him with the mantle of, "DARK TEMPLAR." And Artanis getting up and going forth with his new charge and title.
The Zeratul speech while Artanis is kicking Zerg ass and getting his ass handed to by the Zerg hit real different for me. But Artanis becoming a Dark Templar will always be my favorite scene
Fun fact: The moment LotV came out also Artanis got into HotS and initially they didn't gave him Zeratul's psi blade in his default skin, i guess because theye didn't want to spoil anything. Later he got the skin with those psi blades, a nice touch if you ask me.
When you must stand and move alone, may you embrace it. May you be courageous enough to hold your head up, the wisdom to know and vision to recognize your way. #StayPlayful
Lol, why is Artanis so powerful in SC2? He was basically just some naive idiot kid in BW, which was only 4 years before SC2. That's like a week or two to a Protoss in terms of mental and physical development.
Artanis was the executor (the player) in StarCraft 1 chapter 3. He fought alongside Zeratul, Fenix, Tassadar and basically led the forces that killed the Overmind. He's hardly "some kid."
5 years ago I was very limited on hardware during the time of this game's launch yea the 480p doesn't do it much justice, after getting new video editing hardware, I have made the standard of having all videos above 720p
Blizzard said they needed a new and more powerful computer to draw Artanis' balls.
I think google chipped in
Sounds right
And they still haven't succeeded. The dude must have a sack of goodies that don't even fit a screen in our world.
Artanis takes the "Cool guys don't look at explosions" to a whole new level here
Cool guys dont look at explosion. Badasses warp out of it.
They blow things up and warp away...
i was about to sing that song when i saw that in the comment then i saw you XD

Torpedoes for underwater projectiles and Missiles for aerial projectiles.
Starcraft gameplay is shit compared to its lore
