Happy to help!!😁
It’s wonderful to see any new tractor owner who is so interested and knowledgeable about their tractor. One helpful point though, since you have a front snowblower it would be a great idea to have a blade on the three point hitch. It helps when it comes to scraping a long driveway such as yours.
I've thought of purchasing one but the snowblower does a pretty good job and I haven't had any issues. The box blade actually works great.
First thank you for this -- it's very helpful. I just finished my 50 hour maintenance. May I suggest a couple of tricks I tried that worked. 1. Tent aluminum foil over the wiring harness under the oil filter. It's tight, but it kept the oil off the harness and collected some in the foil. 2. I put a shop vac over the transmission fill hole, but offset a little. You don't want to suck out any tranmission fluid but you want some suction. When I removed the transmission filter I lost a little fluid, but it didn't gush. It sounded like slurping - someone sucking up the bottom of a drink with a straw. It pulled enough air up that the fluid couldn't stream out.
I will definitely try the offset with the shop vac and the tinfoil trick.Thank you! 😁
Your gas pedal is called the treadle pedal... not sure on spelling 🤔. Good video. You made me laugh taking the transmission filter off... haha.
Yeah my spelling is way off but am to lazy to fix it my brain short circuits, oh well.
thats why i allways love servicing and maintane kubotas the easyest product to work on wich ive done for 9 years, zd326, zd1211,
Ryan lynch : yeah shes a darn good smart tractor maintace girl thats for sure :)
@@michaelmactavish4445 Thank You! 🙂
@@redfoxmanortractorsequipment like that size of bucket of oil pretty big with the pump i was gonna get one at my kubota dealer wich they sold out pretty fast after gets in so had to get 1 liter bottles and it was cheap too for 3 bottles for $18.33 wich deeres where $39.80 for 1 bottle of 1 liter of oil and newhollands where $104.90 for theres wich was rediculas for a 1 liter of oil and $6.12 at my kubota for 1 bottle
Once again another excellent video. Thanks so much for the effort to show every step. I’m getting close to 50 hrs. Now I know what is required when I get there. I really like the hydraulic oil pump you have.
Thank you so much for your comment! I'm very happy that my videos are helpful and it means a lot. That is my whole purpose for them. 😁
The cold weather is getting old isn't it? It started out at -26F here just the other day. Each morning starts below zero and slowly warms up to a temp we can live with.
You do a good job of demonstrating all of this.
Thank you so much!
The Deep Freeze definitely has its challenges! We do enjoy the winter very much and understand that doing so makes us odd! Definitely have a completely different wardrobe for winter than summer months!
Do you use an engine block heater on your tractor? We have one and find plugging it in for an hour or prior to starting does wonders for starting on subzero days.
@@redfoxmanortractorsequipment , my L2501 does have an engine block heater. My 2520 John Deere with the heated cab has the hose heater and I discovered last weekend that the heater has quit working. I am going to in stall a block heater in that tractor. I do believe that the block heaters are the best way to go. The tractor stays in an un-heated shed. I plug it in and then trip the breaker in the basement and turn it back on an hour or so before I go to start the tractor. That works very well for me.
Thanks for the video. I have the same tractor and videos like these are helpful
I am glad. 😁
This is a great video for a good understanding of basic service. I would warn up tractor then service if its that cold out. 8 out of 10. Ill be watching your other videos
Thank you !😁 I did warm up the tractor before doing the service. I just didn't put that in there.
I don't know if I would get so technical on going by the book with all the safety switches I would concentrate on oil changes preventive maintenance and greasing
I'm just a very thorough person. If it calls for it to be done, I will do it. 🙂 I want every aspect of my vehicles/equipment running as they should.
@@redfoxmanortractorsequipment well that's a good thing
I mark the date and service hour on my filters for future reference. No paper trail to lose😄
I have it noted on my invoice what service I'm doing so that way I can keep the service records. I also note it in the manual.
The only other thing someone might be interested in starting early on a new tractor is oil analysis. I always keep a Blackstone collection bottle around for whatever oil changes happen to be going on in my life. Airplane, tractor, cars, trucks...
Do you have a video which shows that process?
@@redfoxmanortractorsequipment ummm, Blackstone Labs... they mail you a sample container and you capture some motor oil while draining oil at oil change, then they analyze it for metals, and other signs of engine wear or contaminants.
oh kubota oil can with pump id looked at the same stuff wich i use kubota engine oil in my gas powered snowblower and honda lawn mower love that stuff wich i was gonna get that size of can of oil but were all out so had get the 1 liter bottles wich they were pretty cheap for oil
I like your pumper "doo-dad"...do you have a link to the source?
It is called a Transfer pump for a 5 gal pail at Tractor Supply. Cost about $60
@@redfoxmanortractorsequipmentmany thanks!!! Lugging a traditional 5-6 gallon gas can over the hood of a tractor is not something this 'old guy' likes doing....
@@dwayneloftice2326 not something this little woman likes to do either, lol.😁
You shouldn't have free flowing hair while doing maintenance.
You're not concerned about your long, loose hair getting caught up in your casters when you roll underneath your tractor..?
I had the majority of it tucked up in my hood for most of it. However, if I'm running equipment I always have it pulled back tight and never free flowing. The part that was loose when I showed it was after fighting with the transmission filter.
Don't forget to mark your filters with a month/day so you have a quick reminder of the last oil change interval.
😁 I'm very meticulous when it comes to keeping track for all our vehicles. Each vehicle has their own notebook of what has been done and when. For the Kubota I just watch the run hours.🙂
@@redfoxmanortractorsequipment
This is what I do, each vehicle gets its own clipboard on the shop wall. The first page is all of the vehicle info with maintenance logs and subsequent pages contain notes such as torque specs, socket sizes, etc. Makes life so much easier.
Do you know the oil filter part number by any chance?
The PN: HH160-32093 for the oil filter. Hope this helps 😁
@@redfoxmanortractorsequipment You are the best! Thank you!
Audio interference with your heater fan noise or some other fan. Now gone. We can hear you.
It's the master torpedo heater I bought, sounds like a turbine engine, lol. I tried to not use it as much when I was talking. 🙂
