  • Here is the link for the full JIGTECH INSTALLATION KIT: amzn.to/2yfwYXV and the JIGTECH HANDLE: amzn.to/2R0WbMh
This video gives a detailed guid on how to install a door handle and latch in generally but more specifically using the quick fit Jigtech installation kit and handle system.
The Jigtech installation system makes it much easier to drill and align the handle and latch into the doors. This is a blessing especially if you’ve got quite a few handles to fit and/or fairly expensive doors, because getting this wrong could really mess up the finish and how well the handle works if it is not aligned properly in the door.
This Job can be done without the installation kit, but this makes things significantly easier and the same tools can be used for any door handle installation.
For a matching privacy lock for a bathroom or bedroom door you can use any CHROME THUMB THUMB TURN LOCK on a rose, but here is the exact Jigtech model to match the same dimensions as the handle rose: amzn.to/3dFi6lY
And here is the CHROME BATHROOM LOCK to match amzn.to/2UxnmAA

Great video, only gripe I have is you didn’t fit the latch flush with the door, the kit should come with a latch tapper for this

Hi. When I use 25mm hole saw it make slight bigger hole that I felt. When I have installed smart latch with out tapping 🔨 with hammer smart latch goes in with finger push. Is it ok or what point I have missed it? Why smart latch fitting was lose in my case. advise me please. Which screw driver should be used for smart latch because screws are very little.Thanks.

Will the Jigtech install kit work on all types of door handles or is it only for this brand?

Hey Matt, good to see your face again 😊 I don’t suppose you have had any experience with PVC (front)doors and adjusting the hinges on them? Got my back door with a broken lock, which I can easily replace, but it broke because the handle got tight as the door went out of alignment. I recall the guy who fitted it have a right old time trying to get it all fitted square. Just hesitant to replace the lock if I can’t then get the door opening smoothly! Cheers buddy

Hi Steve, I have a similar issue with my front composite doors. I’m going to get it replaced on warranty because it has warped in the sun over the period of a year and cause it to go out of alignment. Which is a manufacturing defect. Have you tried putting a long straight edge or spirit level up against the door to see if it might be warped or bent? The warping has caused the multipoint lock to become misaligned relative to the door frame and extremely difficult to lift the handle and lock from the outside. Just a thought?

@@MattHutton I haven't actually, I must try that. I've sort of left it alone, because although its the back door (I guess its a side door really) it is open to access by the neighbours in the adjoining flats, so I didn't want to mess around with it and leave it vulnerable to being opened. I looked into the locking mechanism and that is an easy fit. Then just a matter of getting those hinges right. The building is old and it was hard getting the frame squared up. It took the guy a whole day to do it, which I suspect is a long time for one door!

    Great video. Couple of points.
    - A cheap little palm router will make your latch plate installs beautifully simple.
    - Your mortice latch doesn't look deep enough in the door.
    - That jig looks like the green inner guide is meant to close up on the holesaw to stop the play you mentioned.
    - Use the hole saw on both sides. Don't go all the way through from one side. Stops any blow out.
    - Use a square, mark level with the bottom of the upper panel, and save any measuring faff.
    8:31 - That's a spade bit. Use a screwdriver instead 😉
    - To fill the previous latch holes, use a wooden plug (try to match the grain), and whack a couple of toothpicks in with your wood filler. Sands nice, less chipping, less filler, screws bite better 👍

Do you know if with this kit you HAVE to use their locks & handles ? Because obviously that green thing that goes in the hole I guess has to be there ? But when normally doing a lock you never have those
