I had this RFA about a month ago and some of the pain is coming back, although they did say it could take 4-6 weeks to take effect. I don’t want to have to do this twice a year but don’t want fusion either
Dr Asley, thank you for this. After I had a 'radio frequency facet joint denervation' procedure on my spine nearly five weeks ago the 'sciatica' type pain has become much worse so I'm unable to do anything remotely strenuous, including my beloved tennis. Like you I was hoping that RFA would solve my problems, however this 'non invasive' intervention seems to have widely different results on different individuals and I for one, regret having proceeded with it. Here in the UK, a glowing 85% success rate is quoted for RFA but down side of this procedure is not even mentioned.
Very well explained. I will be having this procedure soon. Had my first diagnostic injections yesterday. I have a better understanding of what nerve and why.
Dr. Aslie, M.D., Your videos are wonderful. Very informative and I feel like I'm in a private room being taught by you. I wish you lived in Ohio, i would def be in your office. Dr's like yourself don't come around to often. POST MORE PLEASE!!!!
@@MP-po6fj I got the procedure over 2 years ago. I wound up being too far gone and needed a spinal fusion. I have read that many people do get relief from this. The worse that can happen is that you are no better off.
Hi there Thank you for replying back to me and giving me genuine advice on going forward now. how are you now after a spinal fusion? Hope you are doing well x
What kind of doctor does this procedure? I went to a spine doc and all he did was a local steroid injection.....and of course did no good. Very interested in this procedure, and live in Orlando, FL
+cmheath33 Same here the Steroid lasted only 3 days then I had failed surgery with removal of the Lamina bone. 3 Yrs ago.? Now I am in brutal pain & need a cane to walk with.? The Pain Mgr Dr. suggests that I have this Facet Block done to relieve the pain etc.? I am willing to try anything to get back to some kind of pain free living.?

How do you know which level of facet joints to inject since the pain is localized to the low back area in general?
Is endoscopic ablation better than the Fluoroscopy ablation???
6months pain relief... I'll take it
It's really informative and helps me a lot.Thanks.
I live in Erie PA, and I have had this done and it works wonders! I have had chronic pain for 20 years and this procedure actually gave me relief
excellent explaining Thanks!

Best spine doc in this country
I had the trial procedure and got relief. Then, when I came back for the burning I got no relief from it. I was very disappointed.
How are you doing now ? did you get any relief at all- 1 year on? As i am thinking for having this done but also worried about it not working at all?
