I could see him easily being in the running for the Stones' Black & Blue sessions and maybe getting it but Bowie's stamp was just too far from the Blues influence that Woody 'had' from the same starting point w/out going too far away from a reality the majority could appreciate.
I've recently turned 61, I've been listening to rock music since I was 9 years old! Ronno is my hero, I love many great guitar players, Page, Gilmour, Hendrix, but only Ronno can make me cry! God bless you mate, RIP🎸❤️
Interesting. I’ve recently turned 62. And Mick makes me cry too! I thought it was just me. (He is not that famous in Brazil) Steve Ray Vaughan gives me a pain in the chest. It seems I will implode
Treat yourself to something completely different, listen to the original 9 minute version of Madman Across the Water with Mick on guitar. Elton John replaced him with a string section.
Have absolutely always loved Mick from the early 70's till today he was a right good bloke! Never heard a bad comment and everyone loves him.Mick probably has the most loyal fans of anyone and that just shows how special he really was.He was the best on and off the stage.Glad there is alot of material to listen to.I'll never get tired of hearing Mick play!He was in a class all his own.
I was lucky enough to meet Mick Ronson in the early 1980's, he was so humble and incredible polite - but then the real geniuses imn our life time usually are... Also feel lucky I got to see him play live once...
D'accord, just saw the last Ziggy concert in the movie theater, and Beck came on as a nice surprise, but I realised I'd rather hear HIM PLAY!! That's big!! Ya, he's a bit unsung for his talent I would say...at least we got him for a little while...
Tragically over looked he was more than just a phenomenal guitarist but a writer producer collaborator and never got the financial rewards for all of his work he helped build some others career and was robbed R.I.P. MICK AT THE GREAT GIG IN THE SKY WITH THE OTHERS CHEERS MICK.
Joe Elliot just played this on Planet Rock, here in the uk. What a stunning song! The lead break is to die for! Mick was a superb player! RIP Mick... \m/
He just served the song, Ronno knew how good he was, every artist Ronno played with he only had to give 50% of himself, because that's all he needed...he had so much to give and then left us
The most underrated, undervalued & underpaid guitar player. I think it saddened Ronno that Bowie discarded him. Apparently he received less money than the session musicians that were on tour with them.😕 So Mick learned how to score, arrange & produce music, he was adept on the mixing desk too. Lou Reed (As soon as he understand his English- Northern accent) 😆 Lou Reed was grateful that Ronson played lead guitar, piano & writing string arrangements on Transformer! 🤟🏼 R.I.P. Lou, Ronno & Bowie. ☆
i get the impression pearl jam were influenced by this sound.great track ,great man. always be my guitar hero . i still love hitting hit some of those ronson numbers on my les paul.
Hi All, The guitar on this track IS the original guitar that played all the Bowie recordings. If you listen you can tell simply by the tone!. The amp was a Mesa Boggie Mark I Combo with the wicker grill. If you go to the Ronson web site & click on band of 76 you'll see photo's of said amp & its the one on the track & THE guitar. Its now owned by a private collector & can some times be seen at the R-N-R hall of fame. Cheers to all Thank You Suffragete!! Bobby Chen drums on Just Like This CD
There aren't words adequate to express how wonderful he was. The title of this song expresses my sentiments best. Thank you so much for the lovely montage of photos during the song.
You were my high school days ,,my teenage crush. My younger years I loved so much. My youth gone wild, my dreams come true. My inner child all because of you. To go back in time, I would give anything to see you. I guess I still have a crush on you, who knew? I will always stop and stare at the spider with the platinum hair. Thank you Ronno for all the beautiful music you gave me growing up.Your creative genius and guitar licks is what made you our Mick. Thank you.
Wow, I never realized just how handsome Mick was in his own right. I thought he was attractive, but he was smokin hot too! And the best guitarist in the whole world of all time!
maybe I'm wrong , but, I always thought Bowie sort of dissed you once his fame was well established, it was so obvious what you brought to the spiders from mars, wish you had all not broke up, but Mick your guitar playing is legendary, you always were and are the bomb, r.i.p. my good gentleman
@wildcatter63 You say it true. Not all David's fault, he really appreciated Ronson. Defries (note spelling) was a shit bag to both of them but he did help David break America - at quite a cost financially to Bowie.
Mick was pure class and possibly one of the most underrated musicians of his time. Bowie owes this man a great deal! RIP Mick, we miss you!
A true hero. Can't he be cloned ?
Mick was Bowie's greatest collaborator.
@@KnoxBronson I disagree.
I could see him easily being in the running for the Stones' Black & Blue sessions and maybe getting it but Bowie's stamp was just too far from the Blues influence that Woody 'had' from the same starting point w/out going too far away from a reality the majority could appreciate.
@@tynebar You are entitled to your opinion.
This is what a Les Paul sounds like when it's played to perfection. The solo is amazing.

Manny Charlton from Nazareth is one of my favourites.
@@runetollefsen7458 Yes, I agree! I love classic Nazerath, Loud and Proud being my favourite album of theirs! 🎼🎸
I am 61 as well and those were the great years to rock and roll 🎸

Just one more reason to appreciate the best decade of my youth. The 70's. No decade rocks like the 70's.
I agree 100% with you on that.
@@davidcopson5800 Nor ever will again.
RIGHT!!!
💯👍
And we would give anything to see you too, Mick. RIP
I always think that when I listen to this. Love you Ronno
My goodness, what a beautiful track. Accomplished singer, brilliant guitarist, soulful blues artist.
20 years ago, 29 April 1993 Mick passed away in London. What a loss to music and a talent unfulfilled. RIP Ronno!
i think he fulfilled...just coulda gone longer.
He had magic hands and the heart of a true rocker. Sure do miss him...

Simply the best guitarist I ever had the pleasure of seeing. An absolute genius. When Ronno played everyone took notice.
D'accord, just saw the last Ziggy concert in the movie theater, and Beck came on as a nice surprise, but I realised I'd rather hear HIM PLAY!! That's big!! Ya, he's a bit unsung for his talent I would say...at least we got him for a little while...
One of only a handful who can make a les Paul cry.
EDIT: Thanks for pointing out it was his Tele.
Not a LesPaul in the studio.
Cheers, I didn’t know that.
I play a Les Paul, this has a thick humbucker sound ?
Only the best ones play on Gibson.
Great description man
Pure class badass no one plays like this man

20 years may have elapsed since his passing, but music such as this will ensure he lives forever. Superb solo. Thanks, Mick.
Lord Have Mercy! This cat is awesome.
@wildcatter63 True.
Joe Elliot just played this on Planet Rock, here in the uk. What a stunning song! The lead break is to die for! Mick was a superb player! RIP Mick... \m/
From 3:08 until 5:08 is about the best, most emotional two minutes of guitar playing that has ever been recorded.
originalmngsp , oh yes, absolutely! What an amazing song! So well composed, arranged and performed by
Mick Ronson. Awesome guitar!
sttgaegoaktd

He wasn’t a supporter of Bowie but his equal. Long Live Ronson ❤️🔥
Bring back good music like this. Classic rock never dies. Mick is still the Boss.
He would've been 75 today. Happy Birthday Mick. I'd give anything to see you, right now, too. xx
Mick was meant to give himself freely. He will always be traveling through the airways like an angel with his message.
Just play on.
Ronno´s solos have such a lot of feeling, The Melody Master.
