At 5:08, the lead Qaseeda singer starts..."marhab marhaba, Pyare Gausul-waraa tumpe lakhon salaam" That is actually based on the famous qawwali by Shamim Naeem Ajmeri on Shaheeda-E-Karbalaa..Imam Hussein, Imam Abbas, Imam Ali Akbar, Imam Ali Asgar, and all Aal-E-Rasul. Great recitation. BUt here is a thought to share - can we introduce harmonium into the Rifai-Rateb silsilaa? After all, it is a Sufiana Andaaz and Rifai with musical instruments, so by that standard, the Committee should approve certain Vaajintra/Instruments that are generally required to make the singing/reciting soulful and karnapriya. I am not there to start this conversation but the leaders of different towns can start the discussion about it. We are not going to play any filmi song or other Dhun on those Vajintras, but the various artists can play the same tune with the lead singers, while one microphone for example can be placed on the harmonium at 2-3 inch height and take that to the main sound, same thing with Banjo player, where the banjo is connected to its C15 Stranger amplifier and one mic is placed in front of that amplifier and the sound is taken to the main sound. This is my attempt to make Rateb / Rifai very attractive. If other religions use these instruments for their programs, there is not anything written in our books to ban such Vajintras from our programs. I am in Texas and I will launch this discussion for the group here in USA. I think Rifai followers need a huge break by officially get a recognition to make our programs much more acoustic than any other religious programs of such calibre. What is your thought on this?
The Sufiana Andaaz which is the basis of Rifai-Rateb Silsila, includes Hindustani Sashtriya Sangeet and various Raaga developed back 1200 years ago...like Raag Multani, Raag Jaunpuri, and various Raag of Thaat Bilawal and not to forget Raag Aman or Yaman which is also known as Yaman-Kalyan. So, by way of its conceptual basis, I want to see the introduction of various instruments like harmonium and Banjo. For example, look at " Pir Naseeruddin Syed Naseer " and his various Urdu/Punjabi Bayan/Taqreer and you will see him reciting famous compositions along with harmonium. I have a desire to introduce Professional Banjo into Rateb. Send me your thoughts about this. Discuss this with your Peer saahab who is regular in such Rifai programs.
