Steve Perry was my favorite frontman. but the frontman for this is Amel Penda, who became Journey's frontman when Perry retired. and is excellent also. Sounding much like Perry did, Amel is from the Philippines of course😊

People saying that nobody can replace steve perry in a negative tone. Let me tell you the hard truth, gentlemen. Arnel did not replace perry because he is irreplaceable. Steve left back in 1998 due to health reasons and refuses to return even years later saying that he never really felt being part of journey. Arnel and steve had 10 years gap between them. Arnel filled in the void so journey can continue sharing the great music steve and the members created years back.

They don’t know Morissette. International caliber has different taste than Filipino. Arnel never gave a chance in the Philippines because his music style and looks are not fit in a 3rd world country. Like Charice who lost against good looking kid who’s talent is way below Charice by a large margin. They love the likes of Martin Nievera who keeps failing in Auditioning in Hollywood and different music performing arts in the US😂😂😂, that is Philippines quality. Morissette is great and I hope she will reach what Charice lost so the Philippine music crictcs would embarrass again that they always not picking the best talent in every competition.

just my little FYI in regards to journey....they were formed in 1973, steve perry was not the original lead singer of the band, he was HIRED in 1977 to be their lead singer. before that, the original lead singer was gregg rollie, their keyboard player. the band was ready to set to tour in support of their album trial by fire in 1996, but steve perry could not do the tour due to a hip injury and he later announced he was leaving the band that same year. in 1998 he was replaced by another steve...steve augeri who also left the band in 2006 due to a throat ailment. augeri was briefly replaced by jeff scott soto.......arnel pineda was hired in 2007 after founding member neil schon found him in youtube singing faithfully during a lengthy search. arnel pineda is now the longest tenured lead singer in the band, 2007 to present.

That area is infamous for abandonment, working girls, homelessness, and heavy drug addiction. I knew a woman who died at the age of 37 because of her drug addiction that lived in that area. Sad depressed area that attracts a lot of down and outs.

Arnel is an excellent replacement for Perry. His vocals are very similar which keeps the sound of the original Journey songs true to their original sound. That said, one of the most memorable concerts I have attended was the 1982 Texas Jam in the Cotton Bowl stadium Dallas Texas with Journey headlining the show. It was at the height of the bands popularity with Steve Perry and they sounded better live than in their recordings. Simply phenomenal.
