Artists Serving Artists - Phil Saxon is an associate at our Blick Milwaukee MIAD, WI store. A self-taught artist, his mixed media paintings consist of a modernist style with layers of acrylic and watercolor paint on paper. He is not afraid to paint over an existing painting to achieve a new painting. His subject matters are often figurative and of ambiguous gender. His paintings express an internal self-discovery, emotion and reflection. He believes it’s important for artists to fully invest themselves into their artwork both physically and emotionally.
