As a disabled woman I can confirm the discomfort equating to dangerous issue. For crying out loud, my kid's school didn't want me being a Mummy helper at school, or on field trips. My ex wasn't having it though, I managed to give birth to them and raise them, if anything my disability taught me to suck it up and deal.

It needs to be a law on arresting disabled people on frivolous reasons taking advantage on them!!

I agree completely about the recruiting problem. It is also a training problem because we are training them to be aggressive, angry judgmental, racist, control, freaks.

If you're arresting a deaf and blind person and they start to fight, not knowing what's happening, who is the danger?

These people flashbang babies in cribs for fun. You know they think disabled people are a threat.

It's so unfortunate - a lot of cops treat deaf people this way, even shooting them when they do not follow commands (because they can't hear them). Apparently, being handicapped is no excuse for not immediately jumping when issued a command. Police really do NOT give a flying doughnut about the disabled person. We are just punished even further :/

You're DAMNED RIGHT, that gal must be at LEAST a buck five. There is nothing more DANGEROUS than a PETITE little deaf and blind woman. He would have been well within his rights to beat and tase her.......FOR OFFICER SAFETY!!

If this cop considers this a "potentially dangerous situation" then he should definitely stay away from dangerous predators like squirrels, field mice, kittens and other small animals....
I would like to say that I am speechless and stunned, but that is an incredible understatement!

She's trying to tell them she's deaf like 15 times. I doubt she told you she understands when she can't hear a FREAKING WORD YOU ARE SAYING!!!!!!!!! Of course it's Texas. Abbott and these officers probably had a good laugh at her expense too.
