My family(on my side) is primarily French Canadian so I always try to incorporate at least one thing from my heritage to keep it “alive” for my kids. I think I may make some maple fudge and make be even some tortiere this year. My daughter is begging for banana pudding so I will most likely make that too. My husband’s side of the family is Mexican American so we have buñuelos, menudo, and pan de polvo etc. I think that’s going to be my focus especially now that my mom is not here with us-to keep traditions alive and pass onto next generations. I love your idea of adding one new thing so I will try to do that too.
Love and blessings to everyone!!!
♥️🙏
I love that you’re combining lots of traditional dishes in to keep your heritage alive! Thats amazing!
I did a trifecta in alternate warmers today: Sleigh Ride, Disney’s Magic, and Orange & Evergreen. It was outstanding! My designated cookie is Russian Tea Cakes- since I was 17. My favorite part about holiday baking was when we used to get together as a family and make cut outs and then paint them with food coloring and thin brushes. My mom was a great artist and was doing it before we were born so it was easy to tell which ones my sisters and I painted 😂 We also used to do thumb prints, ting-a-lings, fudge, Chex mix, chocolate dipped pretzels, magic bars, and pizzelles. When we were little, my mom stored everything in tins in the basement. We would go down there and sneak cookies all season. A couple of years ago we told her and she said she had no idea lol. It’s a real art to dig down into the middle of the canister among the tinfoil layers. Happy baking ❤
Oh my gosh a basement stockpile of treats?! I’d have dug in and snuck some too! 😅
I love both rum pum Plum and dancing sugar plums ill have to try them together.
I don't do a lot of holiday baking, just a pistachio pudding pie for Christmas Day dinner and occasionally a pumpkin ice cream pie. When I was a kid we did all kinds of baking for gifts for the neighbors and family. Several different fudges, cookies, homemade Chex Mix (before they made it commercially), so many delicious goodies! Have fun with all your baking. And I have to tell you that I remember having those same Christmas Mice window clings when I was a kid! They are so so much fun :)
Oh wow, Christmas mice twins lol!!!🐭🐭
Season of magic is absolutely one of my favorite bars scentsy has ever made! Love ❤️
I agree about Spiced Ember Glow! I wish I had clubbed it - it was a great performer!
It really is a good one!
Agreed on Praline & Woods.. it’s amazing. ❤❤❤
I’m new to vendor wax. I have Praline & Woods and am ready to melt it. How much vendor wax do you use compared to Scentsy cubes? Thanks for a great video! I hope you enjoy your days off and have a Merry Christmas!
@@susanmayhew5844 I find that about a cub and a half is the right dose for my warmers. I’m using 25 watt scentsy
Thanks Liz! I love watching all the great videos you, Robin and others provide for us!
Hi Robyn! I don’t bake as much as I would like as my kids are now grown but the things for me that are a must: homemade chex mix (my mom’s “secret recipe” with my variations over the last 30 years), sugar cut outs, gingerbread cookies, peanut butter blossoms. Chocolate crinkle cookies were new for us this year and so delicious!
We make all those same cookies including the chocolate crinkles as well as snickerdoodles.
Ooo we did chocolate crinkles a couple years ago and they were so good! Sent them for a school bake sale once too and they went like hotcakes!
What a great round of warming Robyn! Look at you with the tree scents🌲 I'm in full blown baking mode over here. I did chocolate chip butterscotch cookies, christmas rice krispie squares, chocolate peanut butter balls, haystacks, magic cookie bars, and a new addition this year, christmas crack. You'll have to let me know how the Raspberry Linzer cookies turn out. That's something I've been wanting to make as well!
They turned out well! The dough was a bit finicky to roll out but they turned out great and very tasty!
Wow you’ve been busy baking up a storm too!
Rum pum plum is my favorite of all time! I think it’s so much better than sweet plum pastry in my opinion. I don’t think I could ever get tired of it.
It’s such a great bar! I threw it in my Club as it’s not the type of scent we get often!
Merry Christmas Robyn 🎄. Out of all the recent launches Rum Pum Plum is my favorite. I love tree scents with bakery. Great empties
Merry Christmas! 🎄💜
Oh I love Raspberry Linzer Cookies. I used to make them every year so I bought a Linzer Cookie kit with all the cutters. This year my mother-in-law and I made a bunch of different cookies from a vintage Betty Crocker cookie book along with our traditional Santa Sugar cookies decorated with buttercream, red sugar and coconut. Happy baking and Merry Christmas!🎄
Those Santa cookies sound super cute. Linzer cookies are baked! That dough was a bit of a pain to roll out but we got it done and they turned out great! 🎄
Rum pum plum has a stinky feet note to me haha. I did add sugar cookie with it and it helped.
My mom didn’t like Rum Pum Plum either and got a similar note - I’m so glad I don’t get that at all, but you’re not alone!
I found Red Current Wreath and Rum Pum Plum to be weak and did not last long in even my small rooms. One bar that blew me away recently was Ariel, the little mermaid bar. That was very strong and long lasting.
Oh wow, Red Currant Wreath did 2 days in my open area! And I had limited success with Ariel if I remember right lol! Different houses really do throw wax so differently! I’m glad she worked so well for you!!! 🧜♀️
Ohh, yummy cookies my friend! I’m making the chocolate ganache thumb prints I always do… gingerbread spice and chocolate chunk cookies also… and the new one will be a toasted almond, vanilla bean & orange zest tea cake type cookie. I stick with my old Martha Stewart magazines mostly, but there are still so many cookies in them I’ve not tried yet!
Martha usually doesn’t steer us wrong that’s for sure! I also really like Sally’s Baking Addiction blog - her recipes are also very good.
Your orange zest cookie sounds very lovely!
I like spiced ember glow too but wasn't too surprised when it didn't come back just because I hardly ever heard people talk about it. Also, it is really special when warming but I don't know that the tester caught my attention in particular. Thanks for the videos!
I agree. It was very underrated and also smelled like boring plain cinnamon scent in the tester but bloomed on warm - I think that was its downfall.
Yes, bloomed is the right word exactly! I keep my club just about as small as possible (around 10 bars) but even so, it made the cut for mine! @@RobynH
I go visit my mom for Christmas and this year probably staying home because she keeps falling down 🙏 I think my uncle is bringing us dinner . It's going to be just 4 adults and no kids. Very quiet. Have a good holiday
Quiet holidays are nice too. And nice that you’ll have dinner brought over! Merry Christmas! 🎄
Look at u and all the tree scents!!!!👏👏👏👏
I know!!! I’m trying to go through a bunch of them while I’m in the mood for them! 🎄
I usually make peanut butter balls, Nanaimo bars, snowball cookies, spritz cookies, shortbread cookies, date squares, chocolate cake, lemon loaf, banana bread, pretzel rolo treats, and butter tarts for my Christmas baking. This year I’ve made spritz cookies and not making anything else because everything is just too expensive this year.
Oooo I haven’t made peanut butter balls in years but those are always a favorite! Maybe I should do some this year!
Yes, we have a sugar shortage here in Canada so sugar is very hard to come by right now which makes it tricky, not to mention the cost of groceries in general!
@@RobynH i had bought a huge bag of flour plus my mom had bought me a huge bag and a few bags of sugar back in the summer when they were on sale so im good for that. But everything else is just so expensive. Spritz is so inexpensive to make and you get 72 cookies out of a batch of dough, and you can use margaring instead of butter which is cheaper. Chocolate chips went up in price and theyre smaller bags. I miss doing all the baking, so i think in the new year im going to stock up month by month: like buy butter in jan, chocolate in feb, and so on.
@@RobynH i didnt know theres a sugar shortage here, i only buy sugar to bake with. Do u know why we have one? Such a weird thing to have a shortage of sugar.
Hi Robyn! I was surprised you intentionally warmed a tree scent, lol! Yes, Praline Woods is lovely! I bake morning to night for weeks. I do love being in the kitchen though! Thank you, and wishing you a lovely week before Christmas! 🥰
We need a wax called Becky’s Kitchen! 🎄
@@RobynH I’ll work on a quickie comeback, involving multiple disaster's LOLOLOLOL🥰
It would smell of fresh baked bread and cookies and tea, lol! Some pine cleaner cleaning up the messes, or 3 dogs. I have flour everywhere! Lololol!
I love baking! I make the usual chocolate chip cookies, Snickerdoodles are a favorite, and then usually a chocolate cookie or peanut butter, or both of those lol! This year I found Reece's peanut butter chips! So I may do my chocolate chip cookies half chocolate half peanut butter. Amd I got mini chocolate chips to do some kind of Bundt cake, another fave in our house.
Ooooo you go all out with the baking!!! Very nice! Peanut butter chips will be fun to play with!
Hi Robyn! I’ll be baking chocolate cookies and I’m making a cinnamon roll dish I saw on RUclips that looks super yummy! My nephew is 4 and said he wants cinnamon rolls for Christmas so I promised him I’d make them. I hope you and your family have a great Christmas!🎄🎅🏻🤶
That sounds yummy!
Merry Christmas to you and your family too! 🎄
I’m loving Red Currant Wreath also! I really enjoy Teddy Bee’s Christmas Cookies! Yum!
My husband bakes his “famous” pumpkin pie every year. Crust from scratch and all. So good! Have fun baking, Robyn!
Ooo enjoy your Pumpkin Pie! Merry Christmas! 🎄
I need to try Red Currant Wreath. I was not impressed with the tester back in August. But I need to give it another shot.
Definitely suggest trying it again now!!!
I'm melting Red Berry & Spruce today. It's so beautiful and perfect for Christmas. Waiting for a BBMB return of it. Have only 2 bars left.
100% with you on that - I’ve got it in my melting basket and hope to warm it this week! 🎄
