You hit the missile, but it exploded too close. Interesting video in any case.
I believe that the missile tends to do airburst once it gets close enough, if it detects hull blocks.

I used to make "Yammer" the AA Cruise Ship. Basically, a Box filled with CIWS, Jammer, and Sprint Missiles that can fly independently. But the problem is, the Radar exploded upon impact from the Sprint Missile 😂
Пулеметы хорошо поливают, но урона мало, а крылатые ракеты довольно упитанны. Поэтому нужно попасть раза три или даже четыре, как мне кажется. В то время, как вымпелы стреляют не столь густо, но им достаточно пары попаданий, вроде как... При том, что по цене три вымпела идентичны двум пулеметам - 96 пуль в залпе против 100 пуль двух пулеметов. Единственно нужно больше массы на дополнительный блок для третьего вымпела и еще один снарядный ящик...
Пулеметы эффективны когда именно в центре установлены, гораздо точнее стреляют, вообще по мне лучше две 100 и один пулемет или наоборот. У 100 снаряды с радиовзрывателем очень эффективны против ракет
Проводился тест и было установлено, что с абсолютной гарантией ракету может сбить лишь плотный огонь из 8ми 37мм пулеметов или же 8ми 57мм пулеметов. Калибр вообще не имел значения в тестах. В любых других случаях шанс колеблется между 40% и 70% на сбитие. Где 4 пушки 37мм или 57мм обеспечивают только 50/50 шанс на перехват. Гораздо больше пользы от них против авиации. В итоге лучшей защитой против ракет остаются спринты и любые снаряды с дистанционным взрывателем. Реальные же проблемы начинаются тогда, когда ракета летит куда угодно, но только не в корабль над которым получаешь контроль в момент атаки. Здесь даже 8 пушек уже не панацея и поможет только вера в бога и удачная стрельба на упреждение. Ну собственно и разработчик игры верит в Иисуса Христа.. Так что все сходится)

for stopping a cruise missile anacdotally i found that 3 cwis is possible, 4 is maybe half the time, 5 is likley and 6 is almost certain.

Yes, and you can also use FSS when some components (other than fuel) on your ship are burning to stop fire spreading.

One time I replaced every single gun on the Sevastopol with 37mm. Was somehow more reliable than normal Sevastopol, and better at anti-air.
Try 57mm Vympel guns
Попробуй продвинутое строительство треугольников можно в 6 клеток поставить двигатель и большой генератор или большие каюты. И можно будет спрятать баки

Not sure if all your 37mm were shooting at 10:06 to shoot down the cruis missle, your design has all in horizontal line. Turn them into vertical line and try again. 3-4x 37mm should have more luck intercepting cruise missles.
That's what I should consider when designing ships for such a playthrough... Especially with hindsight of what will happen in part 3...

Rockets are better for missile interception really
Yes and no? The A-100 works well a lot of times in the strategic map especially when it’s going dead towards the enemy missile. A-100N is the same but it can also intercept R-3N unlike the “geneva compliant” variant. Those two however are not 100% reliable as sometimes enemy cruise missiles can take a hit from an A-100, so then you either launch another one or you use other ways to intercept. If you meant rockets as in 220mm MRLS from an A-220, then idk. Air-to-air missiles from planes are also effective, probably less reliable than an A-100 but they do good too. CIWS on ships is almost always effective in tactical intercept given good aim and enough firepower, but it doesn’t help in strategic map. Some individuals will say, however, that dodging and avoiding enemy cruise missiles altogether is the best way of intercepting them, but they are minmaxxers and you should laugh at them)
