We got the commodities foods also. We called it surplus food. We got the cheese, peanut butter, canned beef and canned pork, which was all so good. We also got the powdered milk and powdered eggs…not so good in my opinion. But we were blessed to have it all!

You are right about that Mama Sue that commodity cheese and commodity spam was delicious. I wish we could get it today. I sure do miss the taste of that commodity cheese.

It's been years since I've ate pimento cheese. I use to like it a little bit but wasn't crazy about it. But I've found over the years that the older I have gotten I like foods now that I use to not like as much. I want to make this recipe to find out if I still like it or if my taste buds have changed. Plus my kids have never had pimento cheese before and I'm curious as to whether or not they would like it. My daughter is very picky and has been her whole 25 years of life. Things I think she wouldn't like she loves, and things I think she'd like she dislikes very much. Lol! So I never know until we try it. I can't wait to get the ingredients to make it! Hi from Pennsylvania. I just made this ,I would for me leave out the Lawry's it was way to salty At a tsp. I added sugar and lemon juice to help with salty, and dash or 2 of hot sauce, its ok but next time I make it no Lawry's for me , just my opinion, Take care love your channel
