I'm glad too. It shows that the father believed Chris. I hope the child has a life without trauma or remembering the trauma. Hopefully, he was too young to remember.
I lost an entire group of friends over unfriending a mutual friend on facebook. I didn't even really know her that well but in her mind, I was a "fake sociopath" that she "did everything for" that "discarded her" and faked being suicidal to pit mutual friends against me. I'm talking about college graduates in their mid 30's too not teens. I left facebook a week or two into COVID.
Doesn't it seem to be getting worse? I mean that's actually pretty crazy, but now it's perfectly "normal". Now, with everything going on and everything in peoples faces it isn't surprising anymore. Especially be careful if you're a man...feminists have nothing to fight for anymore so they go after men. I don't care who disagrees. I see it and have seen women do terrible things to the men in their lives. Oh, unless you're LGBTQ because then a man deciding to be a woman doesn't count, even if they're not on hormones. Make it make sense. Smh.
Good on you! FB is an incredibly shallow and pointless experience overall. Overprotective parents do far more harm than good. Their children will never be self sufficient, even after their passing. I can only hope that those type of parents listen to this tragic story and learn from it. I know a guy who's 38, has never lived on his own. Runs to his mother to fight his battles. Any small thing, he calls his mom and SHE WILL COME. HE IS 38!!!!!!!! That's a disgrace.......
I fall asleep to Stephanie Harlowe's channel... her videos are lengthy and usually multi-part (up to 2 hrs long per episode). I've lost count of the number of times I've had bizarre elements in my dreams only to realise they were part of the crime stories she shared lol
I knew a girl in HS like Janelle. Except she was VERY smart. Her parents were so overbearing to the point that the mom had a baby and forced my friend to babysit while the mom recuperated. Her parents event crashed the prom. We were going as a group (all girls) so they would let her come. They danced while my friend was forced to sit at the table because she wasn't allowed to dance with no one, not even as a group. We a felt so bad for her.

I will never understand parents like them. Jenelle didn't have a chance to lead a normal life with all it's ups and downs. She may have turned out differently if she had had the confidence to escape their overbearing clutches like her sisters did. What she did was horrendous. She obviously worked on her parents over time, to manipulate them the way she did. Her boyfriend was a puppet too. Pretty messed up the lot of them.😔

I seriously can’t believe how someone can be so manipulative and yet, so unintelligent… it’s rare to be this much of a master manipulator and as intellectually stunted as she was… What’s even more surprising is the fact that the people closest to Janelle were also so unintelligent and naïve as well!
Two things: 1 Buddy committed stolen valor. This element really adds to the machismo of needing to “protect his daughter” by murdering young adults and “take orders” from a fake CIA agent. 2 She was “cyberbullying” herself, and if you read the insults she directed at herself, it’s obvious. It comes across as, “She’s so awful for being a beautiful and kind virgin!!”

I can't even comment on this case. It's pathetic and sad, and to comment on any person involved would just be a waste of my breath. I hope Janelle spends the rest of her life wrapping her "eight to nine year old mind" around her "childlike mistakes". Ugh
I remember this story but Jiles always seems to fill in the parts that usually are missed. Plus, I'm pretty sure most will agree he's a much better narrator. In my opinion, Janelle was a pretty manipulative individual and much smarter than what her parents gave her credit for.

Because she knew them so well, that's probably why. She knew what kind of "talk" they would fall for. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the parents knew she was Chris and they thought they would get away with it if they said the CIA agent said it was okay. Like they all plotted the entire thing to protect Jenelle. Nothing will surprise me - they're all a bunch off Looney Tunes
It frustrates me how some people can blindly support other people instead of thinking "hey, maybe everything they say isn't %100 genuine or true?" It's really a shame that so much got manipulated and made up. It ruined and stole people's life's. Out of pure spite and petty emotions...
These aren't regular people. I've heard this story before and I'm pretty sure even her boyfriend had developmental issues. That doesn't stop you from being prosecuted for a crime though.
I feel like this particular thing has become ever more of a problem thanks to social media and the rise of the influencer. People will blindly believe everything out of their favorite creators or models mouth and watching them command millions of people who follow them to send hate or do nothing to stop hate on the internet is pretty terrifying.
As someone from the third world, I always thought third world folk were insane. Jenelle wasn't that silly. She was cunning and calculating and lied to her parents and ran rings around them. She could have left home years before and lived her own life.
@@capricornqueen3139 Because she used her parents as much as they use her. They were financially supporting her and supplying all her physical needs and she played on her disabilities and played dumber than she was so she never had to work or worry about money.
I think that Janelle felt entitled to people's affection, especially Billy's, because her parents always gave her their entire attention and love even though it was a dysfunctional toxic situation. When I heard that she had a crush on "Chris" that probably wasn't reciprocated, a little red flag popped up. Even in her thirties, she still thought of him and had the gall to pretend he was someone who loved her so much that he would tell her boyfriend and parents that Janelle had to be protected at any cost. Can you imagine the effect this had on his life? He is now a police officer, probably married, and a woman from high school is claiming that he is a CIA agent wanting Janelle to be protected at any cost. I really think that besides getting revenge on Billy for not leaving BIllie Jean and the poor baby Tyler to adore her that she also wanted to get out from under the thumb of her parents and be with her boyfriend. Maybe that figured into it somehow also.
These videos are truly amazing. They are horrifying and tragic yet I’m addicted to watching. It’s great. These people stories are being told please continue to make more. I’m a huge fan you’re doing a great job.💛💛💛
I remember when this story first began making the true crime rounds and documentaries. As a criminal psychologist I found it amazingly fascinating but NOT surprising in the least. She was SO "underrated", as many with health or mental issues compounded by a protection wall from a young age are. She was meticulously intelligent, with both a strategic and complex set of mental tools. The level of complexity it took to come up with AND execute this manipulative plot is a gobsmack to many. But so many people do not realize that the the words "Learning disability" has LITTLE to do with "Intelligence". They tend to equate that phrase with "Slow" or "Mental retardation" of some kind, when all it actually means is that they do not well and have difficulty in the "Usual" or "Typical" learning environments society thinks of and that most of us thrive in or handle well. "Learning disability" does NOT mean a lack of, or "less than usual" or even "stunted" in most cases where actual intelligence and complex thought are concerned. Add to that some level of sociopathy and you've got SERIOUS trouble. MAINLY because of what I've said above, no one knows just how intelligent you really are and you learn to play off that misconception very early and use it to whatever advantages you'd like as time goes by. The fact she could think of this and pull this off and the consequences and harm done, is no surprise to those in most of the mental health fields. "Slow" is a whole different ball game, and THOSE people are actually FAR less capable or prone to committing such acts than "Normal" or "highly intelligent" people. Janelle's "Learning disability" had ZERO to do with her intelligence, which to be honest, was probably more complex and strategic than most reading this thread.
What a egotistically patronising comment to post; "... was probably more complex and strategic than most reading this thread...." of course people reading this thread couldn't be as clever as you or even - cleverer could they? That is an assumption & statement worthy of Janelle herself! LOL

Social media is a psychological cesspool. If you find yourself editing your life, getting emotional over high-school-level stuff, or have issues with depression, get off social media. It was the best thing I ever did for my mental health
I left that nonsense behind me a few years ago too.
I have to tell more people this than I should have to. If you feel like you are being bullied or it is stressing you out, GET OFF SOCIAL MEDIA

Y’all are funny 😂😂
Yeah. And she isn’t even that pretty.
Best thing you could ever do, never go back.! Go enjoy your life
Doesn't it seem to be getting worse? I mean that's actually pretty crazy, but now it's perfectly "normal". Now, with everything going on and everything in peoples faces it isn't surprising anymore. Especially be careful if you're a man...feminists have nothing to fight for anymore so they go after men. I don't care who disagrees. I see it and have seen women do terrible things to the men in their lives. Oh, unless you're LGBTQ because then a man deciding to be a woman doesn't count, even if they're not on hormones. Make it make sense. Smh.
Facebook is not the snswer
Good on you! FB is an incredibly shallow and pointless experience overall. I did something similar around the same time and dropped everyone except my parents (because of backup due to now living on different continents). Never understood friending people you were never close to years ago or for the sake of "yay same schools lol".

It was a miracle that they still "allowed" her to come to public school her senior year of high school. Janelle was in the samish position as my high school friend.
Parents like that are abusive. They mentally damaged their child. I hope the girl was able to leave that situation.
@@tashibalampkin8555 I hope she did. None of us ever heard from her after graduation in '98. This is one of my favorite cases. Janelle was looney, and insanely manipulative. Her parents were also incredibly gullible
Her parents were controlling, abusive conkwockets who made Janelle what she is.
Her parents were insane
Favorite cases seems weird to me . Interesting for sure, but I wouldn’t say a murder case could be a favorite in most contexts
Pretty messed up the lot of them.😔
Parents weren't the sharpest tools in the shed and underestimated Jenelles intelligence and how evil she was

It's so odd that a person who was so socially stunted was able to manipulate everyone around her into believing what she wanted them to believe.
She had nothing but time.
It frustrates me how some people can blindly support other people instead of thinking "hey, maybe everything they say isn't %100 genuine or true?" It's really a shame that so much got manipulated and made up. It ruined and stole people's life's. Out of pure spite and petty emotions...
You just described Trumps whole fan base.
These aren't regular people. I've heard this story before and I'm pretty sure even her boyfriend had developmental issues. That doesn't stop you from being prosecuted for a crime though.
I feel like this particular thing has become ever more of a problem thanks to social media and the rise of the influencer. Jenelle wasn't that silly. She was cunning and calculating and lied to her parents and ran rings around them. She could have left home years before and lived her own life.

Ok
So why didn't she🤔
@@capricornqueen3139 Because she used her parents as much as they use her. They were financially supporting her and supplying all her physical needs and she played on her disabilities and played dumber than she was so she never had to work or worry about money.
Yes as I watched the video I kind of got that from her...very manipulative
I think that Janelle felt entitled to people's affection, especially Billy's, because her parents always gave her their entire attention and love even though it was a dysfunctional toxic situation. When I heard that she had a crush on "Chris" that probably wasn't reciprocated, a little red flag popped up. Even in her thirties, she still thought of him and had the gall to pretend he was someone who loved her so much that he would tell her boyfriend and parents that Janelle had to be protected at any cost. Can you imagine the effect this had on his life? He is now a police officer, probably married, and a woman from high school is claiming
that he is a CIA agent wanting
Janelle to be protected at any cost.
I really think that besides getting revenge on Billy for not leaving BIllie Jean and the poor baby Tyler to adore her that she also wanted to get out from under the thumb of her parents and be with her boyfriend. Maybe that figured into it somehow also.
Damn, damn, damn Jenelle! They let you out once,(ONCE), and now look at this mess.

To destroy a person, disable them with inaccurate realities, while forming disfigured values.
Best and most informative version of this case I've heard. Nice work as always.
LOL
