If he was 120 years old and died in 1792, then he was born in 1672. Not only king of the gypsies, but a "horner" made things from horns as well as a 'door to door salesman". The hanged man's tomb slab is a political statement of his life. And since it is on his tomb, it is sacred and therefore can not be defaced or removed. So like a declaration of his innocence.
Just because something is written on a tombstone, does not mean it is always true. And stones can and are removed from old cemeteries if they need the space.
9:36 My uncle was a verger. He was tending to his mother's (my grandmother) grave and part of the headstone fell and landed on his leg, breaking it! He eventually recovered and was able to return to his duties. When my mother heard what happened to her brother she said "I'm not surprised. Wilfred was always doing something to annoy our mother. Mother was the type to hold a grudge." The view from the top is amazing!
i saw a gypsy grave in ireland some yrs ago similar age, his grave said 140 yrs old LOL, im sure back in those days some folks didnt even know when they where born, and often told lies of there ages as age was wisdom. But graveyards eh full of great things .
What a beautiful cemetery you took us to. It was quite large with many beautiful, handcrafted headstones. Thank you as always for taking us along. I do hope you get to feeling better and you're back to your usual self. 🌹
Ha ha! Not buying the 120 year life for him. Possible, of course, but not likely. Fudging ages wasn't uncommon back then in the days when not everyone had a reliably-established birthdates (let alone birth certificates). But hey, maybe he really was just outrageously lucky. Love the dog zoomies. :-) The child skeleton carving was the first thing in a while that made me go agape. Damn. Creepy. Twisted. Dark. I love the Scots. lol.
14:10 If I remember, a winged hourglass reminds us that life is fleeting, and that the hourglass laying on it's side means time has now stopped passing for the deceased.
He lived for 120 years during the 1700s. That's amazing. He must've eaten all natural stuff. Jack Lalane was right when he said that humans can live up to 120😅
Great video, thanks, Dan for sharing. I hope your cold gets better and if it's not getting better, Stay home and don't allow yourself to turn into pneumonia.
A modern interpretation of the results of the autopsy suggests that Parr was probably less than 70 years of age. It is possible that Parr's birth records were confused with those of his grandfather. Parr did not claim to be able to remember specific events from the 15th century.
One of the more beautiful cemeteries. Also a beautiful view. I hear many birds chirping. Be careful careful with your cold and cough especially because you are so short of breath. Be careful not to neglect this cold! Martha
Lots of graves here made from local red sandstone (Locharbriggs sandstone). Plentiful in Dumfries & Galloway and the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright. This old red sandstone dates back to the Devonian period.
This looks like a nice peaceful graveyard, your videos make me wonder if someone in the future will come across the 4 generations of my family buried together
Oh my god you found one, Halliday, what are the chances . Will check my family history for reference. Pretty sure they are mine , how bloody awesome 🐨😃😃😃. I thought I knew the family crest.
You have been to some really cool places, places I can only dream of seeing, and this is one of them❤. 120 years??? Thats almost a Biblical lifetime!!!
So the Gypsy story if he had children after the age of 100 his wife would have to been 55 to 60 years younger than him!!❓😳 Enjoyed the video awesome cemetery!
Its very very possible he could have been around 120 years old. When you think.about how pure their diets wete, compared to the amount of chemicals in our foods and air today, its very pissible he could have outlived a generation and a half. Strong genes help also!
Bit of an exaggeration on the kings grave, must have been a storyteller as well. I wish you would read the inscriptions of women, I find their stories fascinating.
Hi, from Manitoba Canada 🇨🇦 it would be nice if someone would clean the grave stones or does it take away from the history? 😊 thank you for ur great explore, I can't believe 120 yrs wow so cool ❤😊

That was fantastic I had to read more about Tinker. He had 68 children 4 after he was 100 many antidotes about him.
Wow! Imagine living to 120 years old, especially in those days. An interesting Cemetery.
he wasnt 120 .
Oh God... the pain! I can't imagine how much pain he was in...
All of these headstones are interesting and unique. A person could spend weeks exploring. Fantastic tour.
3:28 my 3rd great-grandparents (HAY) are buried in that cemetery and you just passed her & her husband's plot.. 🙂

Thanks for that! And the super thanks. Hope you're well
This graveyard/cemetery is massive! As always, thanks for the share!!
Great walk today! Very interesting names... how they're buried on a hill is a mystery .... after years past.😮
He lived for 120 years during the 1700s. That's amazing. He must've eaten all natural stuff.
Jack Lalane was right when he said that humans can live up to 120😅
There was not much else to eat in those days! Probably pickled by all the alcohol he would have imbibed.
I luv my Scottish cemetariesThanx for sharing Dan I could think of all sorts pronouns and nouns for the Scottish area
Beautiful 🤩 well kept old cemetery. God bless you. Great video friend. Rip their souls Amen 🙏.
Great place! Enjoyed it!
Great video, thanks, Dan for sharing. I hope your cold gets better and if it's not getting better, Stay home and don't allow yourself to turn into pneumonia.

There a man buried in Westminster Abbey that was a152 years old when he died, Thomas Parr 1482 to 1635...
A modern interpretation of the results of the autopsy suggests that Parr was probably less than 70 years of age.
It is possible that Parr's birth records were confused with those of his grandfather. Parr did not claim to be able to remember specific events from the 15th century.
Beautiful place! So much more to be seen 😊
Amazing cemetery…loved it
Gorgeous 🥰
and the birds singing 😄
I love these really old ones! Thanks so much. I’m in Western Australia we only have graveyards going back to 1820!
WOW! What a fantastic find
Wow, can you imagine taking a coffin up that really steep slope to be buried that must’ve been horrendous. Nice cemetery thanks for sharing
Such a fantastic cemetery...
Nice tour Dan. 👍
Lovely cemetery with an amazing view.

King of the gypsy 😮😮😮😮
What a beautiful place.
Have ever thought of doing one in Kirkcaldy about the old church x
Thank you, if I had to choose a favorite video of yours I believe this would be the one. Amazing and I love your sense of humor! 🙏💕🙏
Beautiful cemetery
Exactly how accurate was his age at death though in those times
Sir, you've come a long way since your early uploads. Congratulations on some very interesting and historical content. God bless Billy the Gypsy king.
i got nightmares with cemeteries when i sleep😮😮
One of the more beautiful cemeteries. Also a beautiful view. I hear many birds chirping. Be careful careful with your cold and cough especially because you are so short of breath. Be careful not to neglect this cold! Martha
Bless you! (For the sneezing)
Greetings once again from Canada, I enjoy your videos immensely . Do you think you'll be in Dundee one day?
Lots of graves here made from local red sandstone (Locharbriggs sandstone). Plentiful in Dumfries & Galloway and the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright.

Gypsies and travellers please music with the spoons by dancing
He had 68 children! Yikes!😮
This looks like a nice peaceful graveyard, your videos make me wonder if someone in the future will come across the 4 generations of my family buried together
could have spent days there, and what a lovely well kept graveyard, they should be very proud. thanks dan,
The only person who wants to live to be 120 is someone who is 119…
Thank you for sharing DGW. Very interesting to see someone lived that long. My ancestors are from Waedale of Stow area.
Why do most dogs I see at grave yards have zoomies
Absolutely beautiful cemetery
Excellent weather for a stroll in the graveyard.
Interesting little face looking like it's peeking out of the bottom of the headstone to the left of the path at the 59 second mark.
Oh my god you found one, Halliday, what are the chances . Will check my family history for reference. Pretty sure they are mine , how bloody awesome 🐨😃😃😃. I thought I knew the family crest.
I just turned 60, and if I could steal a few years from the Devil, I would...this man was a Clever Soul!
Ty for the vids. I like these random tours. Get him more subs to help.
Great spring day.
You have been to some really cool places, places I can only dream of seeing, and this is one of them❤. 120 years??? Thats almost a Biblical lifetime!!!
Great video...and bless you times 2
So the Gypsy story if he had children after the age of 100 his wife would have to been 55 to 60 years younger than him!!❓😳 Enjoyed the video awesome cemetery!
If you could get the genealogy of each headstone you could spend years in one graveyard if you told each story. Endless possibilities.
Beautiful cemetery 🙏🌄
I have family of Halliday in here🐨💗
great cemetary that one, thanks
Love the birdsong and views 🇦🇺

If you want to know why rich people (who could afford grave memorials such as these) end up getting hanged read the history of the 'Covenanters'?
Don’t believe he was 120.
Absolutely beautiful ❤
What happened? There was no desire to read tombstones on this visit?
Wow, 120 years old! What an interesting find
On the hillside, you can be buried Standing up! :)
You can rarely see a cross in their graves. Most have a skull and cross bones.
I love your channel, but I would view it with more frequency if you read more stones.
He didn't live to 120..he wouldn't have known when he was born. He just guessed or was told he was that old
Bit of an exaggeration on the kings grave, must have been a storyteller as well. I wish you would read the inscriptions of women, I find their stories fascinating.
