Nice tribute to trainer Jaghai showing the best horse he trained, Marley Barley winning Zaleucus Trophy in 91’. A passionate horseman, he trained over 300 wins in his career. RIP trainer.

Beautiful tribute to Harry Jaghai, Rohan!!! He and his brother Henry have contributed a lot to horseracing. I wish his brother a long life and continued prosperity. By virtue of the point standings, Fontainbleu needed only to start in this race to cop the Moneymoon Million (fillies & mares) Championship series. This race was run on a Wednesday and Fontainbleu led in tearaway fashion in the early stages with Narry at the helm and was overhauled by Marley Barley with Vishnu Singh in the saddle. Eros won the other series that year: the JRC Championship Racing series, which was open to both sexes. This, after Kenneth Mattis' Khadullah and Throne Circle won it the first two years, respectively.

Thanks again for showing us these races. I used to live down the street on Rosalie Avenue in Kingston a few houses away from Gaghai, me and my friends used to go over there and race marble.

Could it be that the weight was what cost Fontainebleau the race and Marley barley benefited from the handicap in weight???

@waldagarnett3032 Chronicle died 1991 a few weeks after winning the Governor General's Stakes aboard Restless Glen for Billy Williams, beating Khadullah with Joe Buchanan. This race was run on Heroes Day in mid-October, so he probably died in November.
